Illyrian Polish The Nostalgic Collection: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hey all! I have some polishes from Illyrian Polish today. These were released a month or so ago and have been sitting on my blog docket for weeks. Well today, they get to be shared with you guys. This collection is not in stock in Illyrian Polish's shop right now but you can purchase them from Harlow & Co, which offers free shipping for Canadian orders over $25 and free shipping for US orders over $50!

Illyrian Polish Helter Skelter
Three coats
Dark purple with copper holo ,orange iridescent, and tiny gold holo glitter plus blue and purple iridescent flecks
It looks like a very 70's polish to me, which is probably the intention as the inspiration came from the Beatles' Helter Skelter. It has a jelly base so three coats worked out great for opacity and I would recommend a double layer of topcoat for a smooth finish.

Illyrian Polish In My Time of Dying
Two coats
Slate blue creme with a purple shimmer
That shimmer though, it's gorgeous right? I thought I would need three coats but was pleasantly surprised to see that this was opaque with two. Inspired by another 70's song, Led Zeppelin's In My Time of Dying.

Illyrian Polish Killer Queen
Two coats
Dark raspberry jelly with magenta holographic glitter
Yowza! This is freaking stunning. Most definitely my favorite of the set, and not just because it's inspired by one my favorite Queen songs, Killer Queen. Really easy application, two coats and you're done.

Illyrian Polish La Grange
Two coats
Blackened cherry with a chocolate brown and red/copper/violet/orange color-shifting shimmer
A beautiful vampy polish with a ton of shimmer. Inspired by ZZ Top's La Grange

Illyrian Polish People Are Strange
Three coats
Turquoise jelly base with small silver holo and blue iridescent glitter and blue shimmer
I love the not quite blue, not quite green look of this. Inspired by The Doors' People Are Strange.

Illyrian Polish Smoke on the Water
Two coats
Dark plum purple creme
So gosh darn shiny! You know that cremes make me weak in the knees and this one is awesome. Two easy coats and topcoat for application. Inspired by Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water. (I bet a few of you started humming the first couple of beats like I did).

Illyrian Polish Space Oddity
Three coats
Indigo purple jelly base with a strong turquoise to violet shift
I know I am repeating myself here but that shimmer! It's wonderful in the indigo base. With the jelly finish I needed three coats for opacity. You will want to wait a few minutes between coats to prevent any "gumminess" or build-up. Inspire by a favorite David Bowie song of mine, Space Oddity.
