The Holo Hookup October 2016 Box: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hello! I have the Holo Hookup Box for October on my blog today. Along with polishes from Cupcake Polish, Different Dimension, and Glisten & Glow, the guest maker for this month is Starrily Nail Polish. The theme is Clue: The Mystery, which is inspired by Clue! The inspiration pic is below, which gives you a visual of the color scheme the makers were going for. As a kid, we did not have Clue the game to play but I loved the movie Clue, one of those cult films that is so much better after multiple viewings.

The October 2016 Holo Hookup Box will be available during a week long pre-order window from September 21st at 9 pm EST until September 28th at 9 pm EST only in the Holo Hookup shop

The box is $40 plus shipping which will be available domestically and internationally.

Cupcake Polish Mr. Green in the Lounge
Two coats
Emerald linear holographic with gold shimmer
A stunning polish. This is one of the closest, true emerald green polishes I have seen. It goes on well, needing barely two coats for coverage.

Different Dimension Professor Plum In the Conservatory
Two coats
Plum purple linear holographic with orange shimmer
Tasty plum purple, with some added orange shimmer to give it more warmth. It applies oh so well, needing just two coats for coverage.

Glisten & Glow Mrs. Peacock In The Billard Room
Two coats
Dark blue linear holographic with gold and green shimmer and galaxy glitter
A lovely blue that has some teal tones with the gold and green shimmer. I love how the light catches on the galaxy glitter. It's somewhat watery in formula, but opaque enough in two thicker coats.

Starrily Miss. Scarlett In The Ballroom
Two coats
Scarlet red linear holographic with gold micro-glitter
What an absolutely gorgeous shade of red. This is my first holographic Starrily and I was impressed by how opaque and rich the color was. You may be able to get away with one coat for coverage if you prefer, I did two coats, which is my standard. My only critique is that because it's so pigmented, I recommend doing your best not to let it go into your cuticles. Reds are notorious for staining cuticles when cleaning up. Otherwise, I have to say, this is my favorite of the set.
