Lollipop Posse Lacquer Halloween 2016 Things That Can Never Be Unleashed Collection: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hi there! I am so happy that the weekend is finally here and to end the work week, I have some new polishes from Lollipop Posse Lacquer today. These four make up her upcoming Halloween set, the Things That Can Never Be Unleashed Collection, inspired by the show Penny Dreadful. I have Penny Dreadful all ready to be watched in my Netflix queue and October is a perfect time to start, don't you think?

The Things That Can Never Be Unleashed Collection will be released Sunday, October 2nd in Lollipop Posse Lacquer's shop

They will be $12 - $13 each and $45 for the full four polish set (which includes free US shipping). As always, customers can receive free shipping on US orders over $75 with the code FREESHIP75, and international customers can receive free shipping on orders over $175 with the code FREESHIPINT.

Lollipop Posse Lacquer Born Fresh to Suffer
Two coats
Dark plum purple holographic
Inspiration:
"Some people think that's what life is. Born fresh to suffer." - The Creature/John Clare
Dark and bruised and oh so perfect, this is the type of purple polish I want to wear. It glides on, needing two coats for coverage and really nice application.

Lollipop Posse Lacquer I Want My Scars to Show
Two coats
Cherry red linear holographic with a purple flash to the holo flame
Inspiration
"I've suffered long and hard to be who I am. I want my scars to show." -Lily
Yowza. This color. I LOVE IT. It purple holo rainbow arc is to die for in that pink tinted cherry red base. Very pigmented, barely needing two coats. Just a note that because it's so pigmented, make sure you apply a good base coat.

Lollipop Posse Lacquer Life, For All Its Anguish
Two coats
Violet linear holographic with on-tone holographic hex glitters scattered throughout
Inspiration
"Life, for all its anguish, is ours, Miss Ives. It belongs to no other." -Ferdinand Lyle
Another lust worthy purple holo, this time a brighter shade with some holo glitter, to add an extra dash of sparkle. This has a jelly base but like the others, needed only two coats for opacity.

(Under LED Lighting)

Lollipop Posse Lacquer Threaten Me With Life
Two coats
Multi-chrome linear holographic that shifts between blue, purple, copper, and green
Inspiration
"You seek to threaten me with death? If you seek to threaten me, threaten me with life." -Victor Frankenstein
I want to include all the exclamation points here. !!!!! Because holy shift, this is glorious. Definitely my favorite of the set. It does have a strong color shift but that crazy high density holo was taking over in my photos. Slightly thicker in formula compared to the others but that makes it quite opaque, two coats shown below and no clean up needed.

Polish My Life Thank You for Being A Friend Collection plus Bronze Beauty: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hey everyone! I have more Polish My Life today, this time a review of her upcoming Thank You Being a Friend Collection. You probably started humming the theme song as soon as you read the name. For those who did not watch, this collection is inspired by the show The Golden Girls

The Golden Girls was a show that was on the air when I was a kid so this collection was a hit of nostalgia. I haven't watch it a *very* long time so a re-watch will need to be done soon I think. For those who are not connected to the inspiration, I think that you will find this collection to be still quite wonderful.

Formula notes:
The formula and application for this set was really great. These are some of the most easily applied matte polishes I have used. Because they are more a satin matte than pure matte finish, they have a more thin consistency. While a couple of them were somewhat opaque in two coats, I ended up applying three thin coats for opacity. If you apply two coats, you may see some of your nail imperfections (I did) which is why I did three coats. I did not use a base coat or ridge builder while swatching and you can see how smooth they dry down too. Each one has a very subtle shimmer which is not very visible in its matte state but with added topcoat, you can see a pretty shimmer that adds a little extra sparkle to the polish.

Included in this post is Bronze Beauty, created to mark the third anniversary of Polish My Life. That one is available right now in the shop. The Thank You For Being a Friend Collection will go on sale on Friday, October 7th in Polish My Life's shop. You can get the set for $44 or $11 individually.

Paint All the Nails Presents: Watercolor

Provided for Review
Hi everyone! I have some nail art today with this month's Paint All the Nails link up. For this month the theme was Watercolor.

Doing watercolor nails is something that allows for a lot of creative freedom and one of my favorite nail art techniques. I like how you can create something abstract or something more complex, depending on the colors or method you use.

I decided to do a floral watercolor look, done freehand with a brush. The colors I chose are part of the upcoming Polish My Life Thank You for Being a Friend Collection, a four piece set. My review is forthcoming so once I have that published later, I will link it here.

Using a little palette, I put a few droplets of the red and pink polishes and diluted them with pure acetone. Then using a brush, I painted on the flowers. I added some green and black to accent and then just dabbed on, just slightly, a little more acetone, to give it a more "watercolor" look.

Some added matte topcoat, because that's yes, please, always to matte. I love how soft and oh so girly this looks. What do you think?

I hope you like the look I came up with and make sure to click on the links below to see what my fellow bloggers have created!

Turtle Tootsie Polishes Halloween 2016 Collection: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hello! I have another Halloween collection for today, this time from Turtle Tootsie Polishes. Her Halloween 2016 set will be released next Friday, October 7th in Turtle Tootsie Polishes' shop

Turtle Tootsie Polishes Bat Slime
Three coats
Violet linear holographic with black micro-gliter and black bat glitter
I really love the little bits of black that you can see in the purple base. I wasn't able to fish any of the bat glitter pieces, so for those who do want on the nail, maker Chrissy will be including a small baggie of loose bat glitter to place on yourself.

(Under LED Lighting)

Turtle Tootsie Polishes Goblin Goodies
Three coats
White crelly with black, purple, orange, and lime green glitter pieces
A playful and fun crelly with Halloween approved colors. Formula is about what I expect from a white crelly, so three thin coats will work best when applying.

(With Matte Topcoat)

Turtle Tootsie Polishes Ogre Blood
Three coats
Light olive green linear holo with gold shimmer, and gold holo micro-glitter
This is what I would envision for as a bloody Shrek polish, the color is spot on. The gold glitter and shimmer add some extra sparkle, always a nice thing. It applies well, not quite opaque in two coats, but a third coat will make it opaque.

(Under LED Lighting)

Turtle Tootsie Polishes Spooky Pumpkin
Three coats
Orange linear holographic with black metallic flakes
This one was my favorite of the set but orange things are necessary right now, for me anyway. I like that it has a bit of contrast with those flakes and the color itself has a golden tint to it. Application was the same as the previous holo polishes, three thin coats for opacity.
