Great Lakes Lacquer December LE's These Are the Polishes You are Looking For Duo : Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hello! I have Great Lakes Lacquer's December limited editions for you today. These two are going to be sold as a duo set. You may be able to guess from the names that this duo is inspired by Star Wars (so excited for the new release!).

These are the Polishes You are Looking For Duo for December is available now in Great Lakes Lacquer's shop. The price for them together is $15. They will be available until January 1st.

Great Lakes Lacquer Droid 1
Three coats
Clear base with various holographic gold glitter
Gold in all it's glory. Very C-3PO reminiscent. This is one that if you decide to wear it by itself, you will need to apply at least three coats. I personally love the impact that a holo glitter makes worn by itself so that's how I have it worn as. If you want to see some layered looks, check out Lavish Layerings and Cosmetic Sanctuary

Great Lakes Lacquer Droid 2
Layered over Droid 1
Clear base with various black, white, and blue glitter with silver shimmer.
This is definitely a polish that will need to be layered. I absolutely loved how it looked over the gold glitter, and you have to admit, it's fitting that these two are worn together, since they are meant to represent the dynamic duo that is C-P3O and R2-D2. You'll get a nice amount of coverage with one coat over the base.

CrowsToes Winter 2015 The Holographic Principle Collection Swatches & Review

Provided for Review
Hey everyone! I hope everyone got some shopping done this weekend with all the amazing Black Friday polish (and non-polish) sales. I know I indulged in more than a few. For today, I have Crows Toes' newest collection to share with you. These seven polishes make up The Holographic Principle Collection

Lauri is a fan of The Big Bang Theory so she based this collection on Season 6, Episode 5, titled "The Holographic Excitation". In this episode, Penny surprises Leonard by visiting his lab. During her visit, while showing her all of the "high techie techie., and low techie techie" equipment that he works with every day, Leonard explains to Penny what is known as "the holographic principle". Here is a clip if you wanted to take a look.

The Holographic Principle Collection launches tomorrow, Sunday, November 29th at 10 am EST in Crows Toes Big Cartel shop. Each full size polish will be priced at $12 each.

BONUS: Take 20% off your entire order (including the new collection!) if you buy two or more bottles. Use the code CROW20 when checking out. This sale will run until Monday November 30th at midnight EST.

Crows Toes A Volume of Space
Three coats
Black base with teal/violet/blue color shift plus silver holographic and gunmetal glitter
The shift is a subtle one but definitely there. The formula is on the thinner side so three coats got me to full opacity.

Crows Toes Wheeler's Bag of Gold
Three coats
Gold flake with gold holographic glitter
Goodness, will you look at that bling! You could get away with two carefully applied thicker coats but I did three thinner coats for complete coverage.

Crows Toes Hey! Get Outta My 3-brane!
Three coats
Magenta linear holographic with gold sheen

Crows Toes Just Another Gravitational Wave
Two coats
Ocean blue linear holographic

Crows Toes Monstrous Moonshine
Three coats
Red toned purple linear holographic

Crows Toes The Holographic Principle
Two coats
Silver linear holographic with lilac sheen

Crows Toes Unified Field
Three coats
Grass green linear holographic with blue flake shimmer

Provided for Review
Hey everyone! First of all, a very Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Americans. For today I have a ton of awesome Pahlish to share with you. Normally I split up the monthly duo and any other new releases but I have limited time today so I am going to share everything in one massive post. Here are the details for Pahlish's Black Friday 2015:

There will be a limited edition gift with purchase polish, Little Rebel Droid. This polish will be not be available for purchase but will be free with all orders over $50.

The December 2015 Confectioner's Castle Duo and the five Black Friday Bespoke Batch polishes will be available for pre-order. So no worries about them selling out!

There will also be other previously released Bespoke Batch, monthly duo, and other past Pahlishes to purchase, some will also be pre-order polishes, some will not be. You can see what will be available as of now in Pahlish's shop.

The Black Friday Sale will go live at 12:01 am CST on Black Friday, November 27th and end Cyber Monday, November 30th at 11:59 pm CST.

Pahlish Gingerbread Baker
Two coats
December 2015 Duo Confectioner's Castle
Medium wine creme
Another montly duo with a creme base and I am loving it! Wonderful formula and application

Pahlish Gumdrop Rooftop
Layered over Pahlish Gingerbread Baker
December 2015 Duo Confectioner's Castle
Clear topcoat with a mix of iridescent glitters, ultra-chrome flakes, and scattered holographic flakes
My photos do not do this topper (or duo for that matter) justice. The topper has a subtle color shift to it, with those ultra-chrome flakes. Nice amount of coverage, I have it shown with one thicker coat over Gingerbread Baker.

Pahlish The Forest Moon
Two coats
Black Friday Bespoke Batch
Deep olive green jelly with platinum and aqua flakes with green micro-glitter plus scattered holographic shimmer
So rich and earthy and all around beautiful. It does have a thicker consistency in formula, with all those flakes and shimmer, but you need only two coats for coverage.

Pahlish Two Moon Sunset
Two coats
Black Friday Bespoke Batch
Dark red jelly with platinum and rose flakes, copper and orange micro-glitter plus scattered holographic shimmer
Wow, what a gorgoues red! The platinum flakes are here again but accented with warm rose/copper/orange flakes and glitter. Thicker formula, like The Forest Moon.

Pahlish Winds of the Cloud City
Two coats
Black Friday Bespoke Batch
Bright blue jelly packed with platinum flakes, blue shimmer, and blue micro-glitter plus scattered holographic shimmer
And finally for those blue lovers out there, here is a icy cobalt blue with those fantastic platinum flakes. Same thicker style formula as the previous three.

Pahlish Pumpkin Cream Puffs
Two coats
Black Friday Bespoke Batch
Soft pumpkin holographic cream with scattered peach shimmer
So creamy and soft, it totally brings to mind pumpkin cream puffs. The holo density is a lower density one.

(Direct Sunlight)

Pahlish Electronic Santa Claus
Two coats
Black Friday Bespoke Batch
Bright neon green jelly with red metallic flakes
ACK. So visually interesting and striking. It's never easy to pick a favorite from Pahlish but this is one of my top picks for these releases.

Pahlish Blood of the Mountain II
Two coats
Black Friday Bespoke Batch
Garnet red jelly with pink and gold flakes with scattered holographic flakes
Very different from the first holographic version. The holo shimmer is super micro which gives it amazing sparkle in both low and bright lighting.

Pahlish Little Rebel Droid
Two coats
Black Friday Limited Edition that will be free with all orders over $50
Violet-blue jelly with a mix of scattered red ultra-chrome flakes and silver holographic micro-flakes
I am certain that making a purchase over $50 tomorrow will be easy to do but if you had any hesitation before, you will not want to miss the sale just for this stunner.

The Black Friday Trio and the Black Friday sale will go live November 27th at 12:00 am EST go through until Monday November 30th at 11:59 pm EST

Different Dimension Love Would Never End
Two coats
Coral linear holographic
A dreamy coral shade and with the awesome formula that I have come to expect from Different Dimension's holo polishes. Two coats and that all you need for opacity. I wasn't able to get sun shots this week but it has a medium density holo flame.

Different Dimension Time Would Heal All Wounds
Three coats
Berry red jelly base with various silver, purple, pink, red holographic and metallic glitter.
Lots of shine and squish-ness with the jelly base. It does remind me of a bruised heart. But in an appealing way. I applied three thinner coats for complete coverage and I do recommend a double layer of topcoat to avoid any bumpiness.

Different Dimension Wars Would Never Start
Three coats
Black jelly base with red/orange/purple color-shifting shimmer and various purple, silver, pink holographic and metallic glitter
Dark and moody with a purple tint. The black base is a bit thin, so I applied three thin coats for complete coverage.

Make sure to follow Glisten & Glow via Facebook and Instagram to see what those will be.

And if you need a refresher of the Cocktails Anyone? series, here are my previous blog post reviews:

Glisten & Glow Amazon Prime & Commitment
Two coats
Magenta pink jelly base with emerald, silver, and pink metallic and holographic micro-glitter
This is one that I wasn't sure in the bottle but on the nail, I quite like. It's an unusual combination of colors for sure but it works somehow. And for a jelly base glitter polish, I was happy to see that I needed to more than two coats for coverage. You will want to double up on your topcoat (perhaps Glisten & Glow HK Girl?) for a smooth finish.

Glisten & Glow Netflix & Chill
Two coats
Dark plum brown linear holographic with subtle gold flash
This color is so gosh darn tasty. And the name! LOL. I love it. Not sure what the reference is? Here you go
Really nice formula and application, two easily applied coats and topcoat. No holo sun shot unfortunately (sun is hiding this week) but it does have that high density holo flame I have come to expect from Glisten & Glow holo polishes.

Good morning! I have a few blog posts to share with you all today so we are going to get right to it. This first one is from Cupcake Polish. Here are the details for her Black Friday sale:

There is a new Black Friday release polish, appropriately named Doorbuster, which will only be $5!

Sale begins Thursday, November 26th at 10 am CST and go through Monday, November 30th.

Also, don't forget! Cupcake Polish's Holiday Magic Collection will be launching next Tuesday, December 1st, here is my blog review of that collection.

Cupcake Polish Doorbuster
Two coats
Black jelly base with holographic pigment, silver and blue holographic micro-glitter and iridescent blue sparks.
The wow factor for this is definitely high. I happen to love black polishes with the holo sparkle and when it's applies as well as this one, it's hard to resist. I applied two thin coats and that was all I needed for coverage. My photo show one thick layer of topcoat but I have a feeling that if I wore it longer I would need a second layer for a smooth finish. And remember, this polish is just $5.

Lemming Lacquer Villains Don't Get Happy Endings Collection plus Copious Cornucopia: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hello! Lemming Lacquer is a new-to-me brand, one I have been wanting to try for a while, so I was excited when maker Cassie approached me about reviewing a few of her polishes. The first polish is a limited edition Black Friday release and then the following nine polishes are a part of her Villians Don't Get Happy Endings Collection, inspired by the villains from the TV show Once Upon a Time. Here is a little info from Cassie about the collection inspiration:

"I have always thought villains were more interesting than heroes especially when determined to redeem themselves. That kind of story is one we can all relate to and may be even more important than the standard fairy tales that say good triumphs because good triumphs. It teaches us to fight for our happy endings even if we are afraid they are undeserved."

The Villians Don't Get Happy Endings Collection will be released Black Friday November 27th at 12:01 am CST in Lemming Lacquer's shop.

Discount code! Orders that are $15 or more can use the code BLACKFRIDAY for 25% off their order from Friday 11/27 - Monday 11/30.
The Black Friday exclusive polish Copious Cornucopia is included with any orders $45+ after discounts and before shipping, no code necessary.

Lemming Lacquer Copious Cornucopia
Black Friday Limited Edition
Three coats
Holographic gold, orange, copper and bronze metallic micro-glitter in a clear base
Isn't this perfect for Thanksgiving? I especially like the dark bits of bronze against the plethora of gold/orange/copper. You can layer it (I bet it would look great over a rich brown creme) but I like to build to opacity when possible, so I applied three coats for coverage. I still had a teeny bit of visible nail at my tips but it wasn't super obvious.

(Direct Sunlight)

Lemming Lacquer Gin & Poor Judgement
Two coats
Red to black thermal jelly with various sized red hex and black circle glitter
So squishy and shiny. And opaque enough of a jelly that I needed only two coats. The thermal red to black change transitions easily, so easily in fact that on the chilly morning when I was swatching, the polish immediately started to darken with the colder temperature.

(Transition Shot)

Lemming Lacquer Different. Misunderstood. Alone.
Three coats
Silver holographic micro-glitter, blue shimmer, white flakes and white shimmer in a clear holographic base
Light and delicate and very pretty. This is another that is one you can build to opacity or wear layered over another color. I have it shown both ways below. I didn't think of this at the time but I will need to wear this again, this time layered over a white base.

Lemming Lacquer Different. Misunderstood. Alone.
Lemming Lacquer I'll Give You Darkness

Lemming Lacquer Evil Isn't Born
Two coats
Deep cranberry linear holographic
I like that this has just a bit of brown in the coloring so it has a rusty blood red look to it. Really nice formula and application .

(Direct Sunlight)

Lemming Lacquer I Prefer "Dashing Rapscallion"
Two coats
Metallic silver linear holographic with a dash of silver holographic micro-glitter
Metallic silver holos are amazing in the sun. They can fall a bit flat in regular lighting but the added sparks for holo micro-glitter in this particular polish prevent that. And this is thick enough that I think it would stamp well too.

(Direct Sunlight)

Lemming Lacquer I'll Give You Darkness
Two coats
Dark violet eggplant linear holographic
Damn, this is one fine looking purple. So dark and so very purple. And in the sun it has a blue holo flame. You barely need a second coat for coverage.

(Direct Sunlight)

Lemming Lacquer I'm a Difficult Man to Love
Two coats
Antique gold linear holographic with metallic gold flash
This has a bit of olive green in the coloring and I like that flash of gold in the sun. Very opaque, again I barely needed to apply my second coat. And this would be perfect to use for stamping.

(Direct Sunlight)

Lemming Lacquer Never Go Up Against a Woman With Eight Hands
Two coats
Dark ocean green jelly base with small holographic lemon, lime and iridescent glitter and holographic pigment
What a lovely shade of blue/green! The bits of sparkle from the glitter add some complexity. Easy application in two coats and a medium holo flame in the sun.

(Direct Sunlight)

Lemming Lacquer Pan Never Fails
Two coats
Dark olive green linear holographic with subtle golden shimmer
A lush woody green with brown overtones. Wonderful formula and application and a medium holo flame.

(Direct Sunlight)

 Lemming Lacquer Wicked Always Wins
Two coats
Emerald green linear holographic with subtle green shimmer
Another great green holo but a completely different shade of green. And as with all the other holos in this collection, I needed just two coats for opaque coverage.

(Direct Sunlight)
