Crème à la Mode Summer 2016 Box: Swatches and Review

Hello! Today I have a quartet of polishes that are part of the Summer Creme de la Mode (or C.A.L.M.) Box. The Creme de la Mode box is an all creme polish box, featuring polishes from Digital Nails, Indigo Bananas, Literary Lacquers, and Octopus Party Nail Lacquer. 

I so wanted to do some nail art with the set but I haven't had time to do that (summer reviews are in full swing!). You should check out Bedlam Beauty's review though, Nichole has a whole nail wheel full of ways to play with these polishes.

Digital Melonade
Two coats
Neon orange coral creme
Hot damn, will you just look at this color?! It's so eye-searing bright, which my camera can't really show off. And it makes me look just a bit more tan, always nice. Formula is wonderful, I applied two thin coats. 

Indigo Bananas Creme Bluelé 

Two coats

Bright cerulean blue creme

Mmmm, blue.....how I love thee. Not quite cobalt but more a cerulean blue and the perfect summer tropical blue for me. Thinner style formula which is what I have come to expect from Indigo Bananas but opaque enough to just need two coats.

Literary Lacquers Cyan-Tifically Proven

Three coats

Teal green creme

Saturated teal goodness, that's exactly what this is. And it compliments the other bold colors really well. This was nice and squishy in formula. I applied two coats and had just a bit patchiness but a thin third coat did the trick. 

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer You, Me, and Daiquiri 

Two coats

Off white with peach/pink tones

This made me think of linen clothes and lazy beach days. Because sometimes you need that neutral palette cleanser among the brights. Formula was very nice, I did two thicker coats for coverage, just because I wanted to see if I could get it opaque in two. If you apply thin coats, you may need a third.

Crème à la Mode Spring 2016 Box: Swatches and Review

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is having a good Easter Sunday and for those that do not observe Easter, happy Sunday! I have new-to-me collaborative box on my blog for you all today. This quarterly box is an all creme polish box, featuring polishes from Digital Nails, Indigo Bananas, Literary Lacquers, and Octopus Party Nail Lacquer. 

In the past I have purchased individual polishes from a couple of the brands in this box but this was my first experience with all four together. I love the bright pop of color from this spring seasonal box and how well they played off each other. As for the price, for all four polishes, this box is $26! WHAT? Yeah I know, crazy awesome. Shipping is additional of course but damn, you can't beat that. If you miss out on this sale though, you will have the chance to purchase each polish from each's respective brand's shop later on.

Hello there you pretty blue. Bright and dusky at the same time somehow. I had a couple of pink spots on the side of my bottle of undissolved pigment. I did not see any when I applied my polish and maker Raphaelle is aware and this issue will be resolved before the box ships. As for application, two easy coats.

I really like this color, it's a very pale gray which you can pull out to wear as a nice palate cleanser or as a base for all sorts of nail art possibility. Formula was thinner than the others, so I got full opacity with three coats.

Literary Lacquers Salmon Chanted Evening 

Two coats

Bright coral creme

A beautiful and bright salmon pink coral. Very fluid and opaque, so I just needed two thinly applied coats for coverage. I did run in a couple of issues though, I had a couple of small bits of pigment as well as a wonky and bent brush which made it a bit more problematic when I applied it. Maker Amy was made aware and it sounds like I got a bad bottle and this will not be an issue for polishes in the pre-order.

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer The Algae-atic Sea

Muted neon mint-leaning green creme

This is one of those green shades that falls between mint and jade, however you want to label it though, it's fresh and quite lovely. Easy application with two coats.

Nail art yay! These polishes just beg to be worn together so I did a dotted gradient using the blue, green, and coral over the light gray as my base.

Hi everyone! I going to be revitalizing my spam posts but this are going to be called Swatch Sunday (or Saturday). If you will recall when I previously did these, they primarily are just swatch photos of polishes, with not much a review. Indigo Bananas Fall 2015 Holographic Collection (Partial): Swatches and Review

Hi all! I have some polishes from Indigo Bananas to share with you today. These five are a part of her Fall 2015 Collection. There are two other polishes in this collection, Indigo Montoya (a indigo blue holo) and Rhythm & Booze ( a purple holo), Tracie of Newsie Nail Novice has a review of the collection including those two that I did not receive.

There is not a specific theme to this collection, though a few of them have Doctor Who and The Princess Bride name references. The colors though, they are very fall appropriate with deep jewel tones. The polishes all have a jelly holographic formula. I found that I needed to apply three coats for complete coverage, you could get away with just two coats but you may have some patchiness and the color is darker with that third coat.

Indigo Bananas notes in her shop that a few of these, like Volcanic Corruption will darken with topcoat. All my photos below are shown with topcoat, which is how my standard when I swatch polishes. Some staining may be possible, considering these are all darker colors, so just remember to apply your trusty base coat!

This makes me think of pine trees and their spruce scent. A dark forest green that's just shy of being black.

I have a feeling this will be a popular shade, it's very eye-catching. The only one I applied two coats instead of three and you can see that it likely needed that third coat for a reason.

I was surprised by how much I loved this one. It's has such a rich color, I see myself wearing this frequently in the fall.

OH MY, THIS RED THOUGH...glowing from within fits this to a T. It has a less prominent holo flame than the other four but it's much more obvious in person.

Indigo Bananas Neon, The 10th Element Collection: Swatches and Review

Hi guys and gals! I have a super photo heavy post for today. These 12 polishes make up Indigo Bananas Neon, the 10th Element Collection, 9 of which are neon cremes, the other three are holo and flake polishes. 

With all the indie neon polish collection releasing this summer, it can be easy to be overwhelmed by what to buy. I do love neon polishes, something I have mentioned before, but I also really don't like to own too many similar collections in my own nail polish collection. So I have been somewhat picky as to what brands I have bought this summer. I ended up getting a few, some of already been posted on my blog, some have yet to be reviewed, but one of the brands I was most excited for was Indigo Bananas' neons. And I was so happy when I received them! They are opaque and creamy and just thin enough that I can water-marble with them. And they are bright! Since they have neon pigment, expect for them to dry down to a semi-matte, rubber finish but topcoat will of course give you the shine you need.

This is a super pale gray, going almost but not quite white. It's a creme based holo and that factor, along with the color, will make the holo flame a lower density one. Instead of a major holo flame, you get a awesome holo sparkle in the sun.

Clear base with holo pigment and crystal multi-colored flakes. 

This is a new type of flakes according to Indigo Bananas. They do have a slight shift in color to them, these though have a dominating gold coloring. I thought they looked amazing over the light purple and especially with the matte topcoat.

Layered over Polish My Life Stripped

Clear base with rainbow assortment of ultra-chrome flakes

Oh man, this is by far my favorite chrome flake polish right now. It's got every color that you could think of and is just so pretty over a light base.
