Emily de Molly February 2017 Release: Swatches and Review

Hey guys and gals! I have pretty new things from Emily de Molly to share today. These six polishes are her February 2017 offerings, which will be available in her Australian based shop on February 9th. For those who shop out of the US based store, the set will launch in that shop-front on February 15th (6 pm EST). 

Emily de Molly Distant Mood

Two coats

Grey holographic with slight green undertones and strong copper shimmer
That copper shimmer is everything. It warms up the gray holo and gives it a pewter color tone. Application was nice and smooth in two opaque coats.

Emily de Molly Escape Artist

Two coats

Olive green jelly with strong copper shimmer

That tasty shimmer is here again and holy heck, will you look at how amazing this polish looks?Formula was easy to work with, two coats is all you need for coverage.

Cobalt blue jelly with red/green shifting iridescent glitter and subtle blue shimmer

What a glorious blue! I love seeing that red/green iridescent glitter in this particular blue color base. This is also opaque in two coats though you will likely need to apply a double layer of topcoat for a glassy finish.

Emily de Molly Looks Can Kill

Red jelly with green to pink shifting shimmer

This is a slightly pink toned red and the green to pink shimmer is definitely not shy in the base. Smooth application (do you see a pattern?) and all you need is two coats. 

Emily de Molly The Tenth Running

Two coats

Light blue creme with holo pigment, pink/gold shifting shimmer, silver holo micro-glitter and red/green shifting glitter

The Tenth Running is the most complex polish of the set, with various holo, shimmer, and glitter, that altogether, is eye-catching and pretty. It has a slightly thicker formula compared to the others in the set, likely due to the ingredients that went into the making of it. Not a problem with application though, two thin coats for coverage.

Emily de Molly Transpire

Turquoise blue linear holographic

This holo is my favorite of the collection. It's such a bright and saturated color. It applies oh so well and is opaque (again) in two coats.

Chaos & Crocodiles and Emily de Molly I Want to Believe Collaboration Collection: Swatches and Review

Hey all! I have a new collaboration collection to share with you today. Chaos & Crocodiles and Emily de Molly teamed up to create this four piece I Want to Believe Collection. This set was inspired by the TV show, The X-Files. I only seen episodes here and there of The X-Files but I have it on my Netflix queue to binge in the near future, especially since there will be new episodes releasing soon! As for the collaboration, Sarey and Hayley did an fantastic job creating these polishes with their beautiful and varied colors and finishes. 

 The I Want to Believe Collection will be available pre-order for a 24 hour period starting Saturday, January 2nd at 8 pm EST until Sunday January 3rd at 8 pm EST only in Chaos & Crocodiles shop. 

This is a limited edition release so they will not be available after this weekend's pre-order. You will have the option to purchase the full collection or individual bottles.

Chaos & Crocodiles Never Give Up on a Miracle

Two coats

Deep burgundy red linear holographic with subtle gold shimmer

One seriously stunning color. So deep and rich and very opaque, barely needing a second coat for coverage. The holographic density was a medium to high one and I apologize I wasn't able to show you sun shots of this. 

Chaos & Crocodiles You're My One in Five Billion

Three coats

Black jelly base with gold to green to blue iridescent flakes and blue/violet micro-flake shimmer

Love those glassy flakes in the black base. The base color itself is almost a blue black with the added shimmer. You will likely need to apply three coats like I did to reach full opacity. You could also layer one coat over a black or navy base but I like the shiny finish you get with multiple layers of a jelly polish. 

Emily de Molly Human Oddity

Two coats

Lighter toned blue holographic with silver holographic micro-glitter

So pretty with it's icy coloring. Nice amount of coverage with two coats. I love the sparks from the holo micro-glitter. This is has a thinner style formula so I depending on how much you load up your brush when applying, you could do two coats like I did or three to cover any visible nail line. It also has a medium holographic density.

Emily de Molly I'm Not Saying It's Aliens

Two coats

Medium green holographic with green to blue iridescent flakes and subtle red shimmer

A earthy and mossy green color with the added flakes and shimmer that give it some depth. Easy application with two coats. As with Human Oddity, depending on the how thin you apply your coats, you may want to do a light third coat. The holo density is a low to medium one.

Hi everyone! I have some polishes from Emily de Molly to share with you today. This is a random assortment type of post, some are a bit older, a few have been more recently released, all are available in either Emily de Molly's shop or via her other stockists, including Color4Nails in the US.

Emily de Molly Acid Wash

Two coats

Light denim blue creme with green shimmer, silver and sky blue glitter

The green shimmer is a bit subtle but it's adds some depth to the blue creme. With the glitter you may want to double up your topcoat for a smooth finish. 

Emily de Molly Cracks in the Walls

Two coats

Pale gray linear holographic with silver and pewter holo micro-glitter

Not a standard silver holo, this one is much more special. It has a very light pale base and the added holo micro-glitter will sparkle in and out of direct sun. Two coats for full coverage. 

Emily de Molly Diffused Dawn

Two coats

Dark grape purple linear holographic with gold to green color-shifting shimmer

A purple holo that has been amped to this amazing shade with the addition of the color-shifting shimmer. And it applies so well, practically no clean up was needed. 

Emily de Molly Future Royal?

Two coats

Magenta jelly base with copper shimmer and iridescent flakes

That bright magenta is so droooolworthy. The flakes peak out through the base and the copper shimmer is perfect. I thought I would need three coats but I was pleasantly surprised to have two coats for coverage. 

Emily de Molly Maddy's Magenta

Two coats

Dark magenta linear holographic

A really lovely color and amazing holo formula. I wish I had been able to get a sun shot (curse you clouds and rain!) because even in low light, you can see that it's has a higher density holo flame. 

Emily de Molly Modern Luster

Two coats

Watermelon pink crelly with copper and lime gold shimmer

L.O.V.E. this one. I can not resist pink with gold/copper shimmer and Modern Luster is a beautiful variation of that color combination. 

Emily de Molly Sintara

Two coats

Dark blue crelly with turquoise shimmer

On the other side of the color spectrum, we have this stunning and rich blue polish. The shimmer is prominent but doesn't come across as frosty. Great application, needing just two coats.

Light sky blue creme with green/orange/red color-shifting iridescent flakes and holographic pigment
OMG. The name. All I can hear is this song (which I believe is the inspiration). I love the sea blue look of the polish with the blue coloring and the green flash from the flakes. I applied two coats and a very light third one for coverage. The holo pigment gives it a light density holo flame.

Emily de Molly Brick is Dead

Cobalt blue jelly with green, gold, red, and blue micro-flake shimmer

Another comedic reference with the name, which just makes it that more awesome. The bold blue is accented with those multi-colored flakes. It's a bit thicker formula wise but I was pleasantly surprised to have it be opaque in two coats.

Emily de Molly Copper Patina

Two coats

Dusky light sage creme with red to gold duo-chrome shimmer

This is probably my favorite of them all. The formula was just superb, not too thick or thin. The shimmer is a bit subtle in low lighting but not at all hidden, you can see it clearly in direct light.

Emily de Molly Lace Man

Two coats

Gray creme with gold and purple flakes and pink to gold shimmer.

The gray has a light blue tone to it, likely due to the shimmer and flakes added. It's a just a tad thicker in formula, so I would recommend waiting a few minutes between coats to prevent any possible dragging.

Emily de Molly The Pretender

Two coats

Violet creme/jelly with green to gold duo-chrome shimmer

Whoa. The shimmer in this is intense. I love the contrast of it's green/gold in the violet base. Though the formula is nice and fluid, because it has a heavy shimmer, as with Lace Man, wait a few minutes between coats, otherwise, your topcoat might smudge the shimmer in the polish, if that makes sense.

Emily de Molly Veiled Flame

Two coats

Dark plum creme/jelly with copper shimmer

The previously shown The Pretender is a cooler purple, in contrast, Veiled Flame is a bit darker, and a warm, red-toned purple. It's a really lovely color. I lust after that copper shimmer in the base. Not too thick or thin formula wise and opaque in two coats.

Brown to green duo-chrome linear holographic with gold flake micro-shimmer

The dark olive coloring is amazing and applies really well. It has a earthy feel to it too. The linear flame is a medium to high density one, making it SO PRETTY in the sun.
