Paint All the Nails: Secret Santa Edition

Hi everyone! You may recall my previous Paint All the Nails posts (here and here), in which a group of fellow nail bloggers (myself included) come together to create nail art looks around a specific idea or prompt. For this month, we were each randomly assigned another group member a la Secret Santa style to re-create a nail art look. My Secret Santa is the very talented Nathalie of La Paillette Frondeuse. It took me a while to figure out which look I wanted to recreate as she has so many gorgeous ones to choose from! I spent more than a bit of time reading her blog and finally decided on this saran wrap nail art look she posted here

I started out with a black white base on three of my nails using Pretty Serious Presence. Then I applied a few random drops of Essie Bell Bottom Blues and Essie Leggy Legend (both from Essie's Fall 2015 Collection) and using a bit of balled up saran wrap, created the marbled design. On my ring finger I applied Essie Leggy Legend as an accent with two gold square studs from Born Pretty Store

I love the finished look! The bronze/gold metallic with the bold blue and stark white are just amazing all together. I do think Nathalie's original design is far better then mine, you should check out her post if you haven't already.

Make sure to click on the Link Up links below to see what my fellow nail bloggers have created! This is a fabulous group of ladies and I am so lucky to be part of this group.

Also, give Nathalie some love, here are links to her blog and social media: Blog, Facebook, and Instagram

Essie Neon 2015 Collection: Swatches and Review

Purchased by Me
Hello all! I have Essie's Neon 2015 Collection for today. This is actually one of two collections Essie is releasing for the summer season, they also have the appropiately named Summer 2015 Collection. The polish colors from that collection didn't really appeal to me as much but if you were curious, you can check our Karen Falcon's (from Beautygeeks) review

So my thoughts on this collection, well they are nice colors though I wouldn't consider them to be true neon colors or very unique. But I love having a set of cohesive colors and I have really grown to like Essie's polish formula. I have played around with a few nail art looks on my Instagram, though sadly I think these are just a tad too thick for water-marbling. Groove is in the Heart is only one that applied streaky, no surprising with the strong white base of it.

I like these as best a set but if you were to only go with one, I would recommend Vibrant Vibes, it's the brightest of them. For application, I did two coats each and a layer of topcoat.

I purchased by own set of the Essie Neon 2015 Collection from a local beauty supplier but you can find these wherever Essie polishes are available.

Essie All Access Pass

In hindsight, I should have applied a third coat.

Essie Spring 2015 Flowerista Collection: Swatches and Review

Purchased by Me
Hey everyone! I have Essie's Spring 2015 Flowerista Collection on my blog today. As soon as I saw Karen Falcon's (of Beauty Geek) review of this collection, I knew that I had to get them. The colors are nothing new or groundbreaking or even something I don't already have in my own polish collection but I love having a set that compliment each other well. And I had fun playing around with them for a few nail art looks on my Instagram. The application on these is great, a few need just two coats, a couple, like Blossom Dandy, look better with three coats.

I purchased by own set of the Essie Flowerista Collection from this shop on eBay but you can find these wherever Essie polishes are available.
