Illyrian Polish Color4Nails Exclusive - Winter Duo : Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hi everyone! I have two polishes from Illyrian Polish, her Winter Duo, which is a newer exclusive duo available right now, only in the Color4Nails' shop, who does ship worldwide.

Illyrian Polish Winter Morning
Three coats
Sheer indigo blue base with green/blue & teal iridescent glitter, white flakes, tiny bits of holo and a blue to pink shifting shimmer
Tthe shimmer and iridescence in this is so. very. pretty. Because of that sheerish base color, you will likely need to apply three to four coats. I was okay with three, though there is a little visible nail line still, it's subtle and to me, added to the ethereal and dreamy effect of the polish.

Illyrian Polish Winter Twilight
Three coats
Dark grape purple base with copper holo glitter, red/green iridescent glitter, purple/pink flakes and tiny purple flecks
Absolutely gorgeous. I love how deeply purple the color is and how the copper and red/green glitter pop is in contrast. Three coats worked again here for coverage and a healthy layer or two of topcoat to smooth out the glitter bits.

Illyrian Polish Winter 2016 Collection: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hey guys! For today I have Illyrian Polish's Winter 2016 Collection, all inspired by the song "Cosmic Love" by Florence + the Machine. This collection will be released as a pre-order from Friday, December 9th, starting at 6 pm CST until Sunday December 11th at 11 pm CST in Illyrian Polish's shop. Pre-orders will ship by December 19th.

Illyrian Polish The Moon
Two coats
Dusky gray linear holographic
Simple and crisp and altogether lovely. It's a creme based holo so it has a lower density holo flame.

(Under LED Light)

Illyrian Polish The Stars
Three coats
Dark teal blue jelly with tiny holographic micro-glitter
A wonderful starry night sky polish with those holo glitter bits. It's opaque in two coats but I did a third one, I found that it deepened the color just a bit more.

(Under LED Light)

Illyrian Polish Darkness
Two coats
Deep grape purple creme with strong red shimmer
Holy crap, will you look at that shimmer? It's my favorite copper/red shimmer and it looks amazing in this base. The purple itself lean slightly blue in my photos, it's a bit more purple in person. Nice opaque application, this is two coats.

(With Matte Topcoat)

Illyrian Polish In This Twilight
Three coats
Purple tinted base with green to red color-shifting iridescent glitter and purple shimmer flecks
So pretty and magical. It's a sheerish polish so I did three coats over a ridge builder base and you can see that I have some visible nail line still. I don't mind it though, I think the over-all look is gorgeous but if you prefer to have it be completely opaque, you may want to layer it. Black or another darker color would look amazing, if you do layer it, because of the iridescent glitter.

(With Matte Topcoat)

Illyrian Polish Shadow of Your Heart
Two coats
Plum red base with a strong orange metallic shimmer and black iridescent flakes
Oh yes, exactly what I love. Bold and glowing red. You can see the flakes a bit more clearly with the matte topcoat. Easy application, opaque in two coats.

Illyrian Polish Fall 2016 Collection: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hey all! I have Illyrian Polish's Fall 2016 Collection on the blog today. I always look forward to new Illyrian Polishes being released but I was super excited to see that this set was inspired by the Netflix show Stranger Things. If you have not had the chance to watch this series, get on that asap! It's highly binge-able, only eight episodes, and once you finish the first episode, you will totally get sucked in. Here is a promo photo to give you an idea of the aesthetics:

The Fall 2016 Collection is available now as a pre-order in Illyrian Polish's shop. The pre-order is open now but will end soon (within a day or so) so get these while you can! The full set is sold out but the polishes are available individually and orders will be shipped on October 14th.

Illyrian Polish Demogorgon
Three coats
Blackened blue with orange/yellow shimmer and small purple iridescent flecks
Similar to Blue Moon but darker, more of a charcoal shade with all that dreamy shimmer and flecks. The base color is a bit sheer, so this is three thin coats to build opacity.

Illyrian Polish Eleven
Three coats
Berry purple jelly with red to green color-shifting iridescent glitter and a scattering of holo pigment
The rich berry color combined with the color shift from the glitter is ACK, so so pretty. I had some bare patches with two coats but a thin third coat gave me opaque coverage. You may find that you will need another layer of topcoat, as the first coat will settle into the glitter.

Illyrian Polish I'm the Monster
Three coats
Murky green base with tiny purple/pink shimmer flecks
I didn't expect to like this one as much as I did. In the bottle, you see that beautiful shimmer and once you have it on the nail, it's such a striking polish. Formula was similar to Demogorgon, three thin coats for full opacity.

Illyrian Polish Mouth Breather
Two coats
Dark teal blue base with violet shimmer
The Mouth Breather reference is one of my favorite lines from the show! The polish itself is a fantastic blue shade, though the violet shimmer is subtle. It is more opaque than the others in the set, needing just two coats.

Illyrian Polish The Upside Down
Two coats
Blackened purple tinted sheer base with lavender & silver holo glitter and copper/green shifting iridescent glitter
My oh my, this is simply superb. It's not a straight silver glitter instead you see lots of other colors flashing and sparkling. A very dense opaque glitter bomb, needing just two coats. I do recommend a double layer of topcoat for a shiny smooth finish.

Illyrian Polish The Count - Rainbow Connection Exclusive, Mad World (August LE), & Summer Nights Set: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Purchased by Me
Hey all! I have some polishes from Illyrian Polish on this lovely September Saturday. The first polish in the post is a new exclusive to Rainbow Connection, a UK stockist, available in their shop, though it appears that they are closed until September 26th.

The remaining ones in the post are part of the Summer Nights Set as well as the monthly polish for September. They are all available via pre-order now in Illyrian Polish's shop until Monday September 12th at 11 pm. Shipping will be on or before September 21st so not too long of a wait. Okay enough chatter, let's get to the photos.

Illyrian Polish The Count
Rainbow Connection Exclusive
Two coats
Indigo blue/purple with copper shimmer and red holo micro-glitter
A beautiful color and I like the added color contrast from the glitter. It goes on smoothly, needing two coats for coverage. The glitter does give you a bit of texture when it dries so a double layer of topcoat may be needed when worn.

Illyrian Polish Mad World
August LE
Two coats
Raspberry pink with copper shimmer, scattered holographic pigment and silver holo micro-glitter
Oh my. This polish is just so damn pretty. I actually purchased this impulsively when it was first released even though I was on a no buy. No regrets whatsoever. It has a jelly consistency but opaque enough in two coats.

Summer Nights Set:

Illyrian Polish Blue Moon
Two coats
Slate blue with heavy copper/gold shimmer and holographic pigment
I passed on this at first when I ordered Mad World and the other two from the Summer Nights Set but Vanessa was nice enough to include this in my order to review and I am so glad she did! I should never doubt her shimmer magic because hot damn this is gorgeous! I love how heavy the shimmer is in the base, it gives the otherwise cool toned dark slate blue a very warm look. Two coats for coverage, nothing to note about application.

Illyrian Polish Dazed
Two coats
Dusty mauve with teal shimmer
The base color is slightly more gray than mauve on me, I thought it would be a bit more pink in coloring. Still a beautiful color, especially with that luscious teal shimmer. It's more thick in formula compared to the previous two but not an issue when I applied it, I just waited a few minutes longer between coat one and two.

Illyrian Polish Fireflies
Layered over Cirque Colors NYFW
Clear base with red to orange to green color-shifting glitter
I haven't been as excited for glitter toppers lately but this one was an immediate want for me. I like the versatility of it, it can be applied over a number of base polishes and will look amazing over them all. I went with a cobalt blue base and wow, that color shift is crazy good looking. It's thicker than I prefer but I applied one careful coat over the base and got a good amount of coverage. If you want more glitter coverage, apply very thin coats to prevent any dragging or gummy build up. And you MUST wear it with matter topcoat!
