The Holo Hookup November 2015 Inaugural Collaboration Box: Swatches and Review

Hi everyone! I have an exciting post for you today. Cupcake Polish, Different Dimension, and Glisten & Glow, are three amazing brands who are getting together to bring you a monthly all holographic polish box. Each month they will have a fourth guest maker to contribute to the box. For this inaugural box, Elevation Polish will be the fourth guest contributor and the theme is 90's hip hop! 

Some details for you to know:

• This will be a pre-order box, meaning that you can place your order during the week that is available in the Holo Hookup shop, for this particular box, you can pre-order beginning October 21st at 9 PM EST and the pre-order will end on October 28th at 9 PM EST. Shipping will begin early November. 
• The cost of each box is $40, plus shipping and will include four exclusive all holographic polishes.
• Shipping will be available domestically and internationally.

Cupcake Polish Ice Ice Baby

Two coats

Silver linear holographic with color shifting blue shimmer and sterling silver flakes

Song Inspiration: Vanilla Ice "Ice, Ice Baby"

Wow! I love the metallic look of this and the blue shimmer is just fantastic. It's a bit thick but no issue with application. You may want to do a double layer of topcoat for a completely smooth finish.

Different Dimension I Wish I Was a Little Bit Taller

Two coats

Dark purple linear holographic

Song Inspiration: Skee-Lo "I Wish"

So gosh darn PURPLE. Application is great. The color is very deep and has a very bold linear holo flame with flashes of blue. Good amount of coverage in two coats.

Glisten & Glow It Was All a Dream

Three coats

Turquoise linear holographic

Song Inspiration: The Notorious B.I.G. "Juicy"

This color is delicious. I can't describe it any other way. It has the highest density holo flame out of the four in the set. The formula is on the thin side, I needed three coats for complete coverage.

Elevation Polish Liquid Swords

Two coats

Mid-tone pink linear holographic

Song Inspiration: GZA "Liquid Swords"

A pink holo from Elevation Polish! It's not something I expected but I like the end result. It has a more creme based formula so the holo flame is a lower density one. The application is easy, needing no more than two coats.

Yeti, Lulu & Friends Present Elevation Polish's 2015 4th Annual Charity Event: Part Two

Hello! To start the week off, I have more polishes for Elevation Polish's 4th Annual Charity Sale and Auction this week. 

If you aren't familiar with this yearly event, for the last few years, Elevation Polish has done an auction and sale with proceeds going toward Chrestomathy, Inc. This organization has day training and habilitation service for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This year the auction/sale event is going to be bigger than ever! There are so many donated polishes/products from a large list of indie brands as well as a many items from Elevation Polish. 

As for the Elevation Polish event, it will be broken down into 3 sections:

The auction portion (Oct 12-Oct 17th) 

The auction will be done on Chrestomathy’s eBay here.

The sales portion Morning (Oct 12th at 9AM CST) THIS PORTION HAS CONCLUDED.

The sales portion Evening (Oct 12th at 9PM CST)

I posted one blog post on Friday with a few of the polishes that will be available, here is that review. For today, I have a few polishes that have been donated from other indie brands, these are will be available primarily in the Auction portion, will some being available in sets during the Sales portion:

Chaos & Crocodiles Yeti's Plush Bunny

Two coats

Bright mid-tone pink linear holographic

Chaos & Crocodiles' holographic polishes are always fantastic. This has a nice fluid formula, needing no more than two coats for coverage. Since it's more a creme based holo, it will have a low to medium density holo flame.

Lollipop Posse Lacquer Yeti Shoots the Moon

Three coats

White crelly with pink/blue/violet shimmer

A very ethereal polish! Since it has the white coloring and crelly formula, you will need to build to opacity, I have it shown with three thicker coats.

Ever After Polish Yeti's Barbie Cocktail Dress

Three coats

Bright pink crelly with soft white shimmer and red micro-flakes plus holographic pigment

A gorgeous Barbie pink color. It's on the thinner side, but I got coverage with two coats and a very light third one. The holo density is a low to medium one.

Ever After Polish Yeti's Ken Style Tux

Three coats

Black jelly with teal to blue color-shifting shimmer and holographic pigment

The darker counterpart to the pink above. It's just so pretty! It's opaque in three coats and has a medium to high density holo flame.

Fair Maiden Polish My Fair Yeti 

Two coats

Coral orange crelly with gold shifting shimmer and holographic pigment.

Wow! This feels very "fall" to me, with it's orange and gold coloring. I had a nice amount of coverage in two coats and it has a low to medium density holo flame.

Fair Maiden Polish Yeti Meets a Maiden

Two coats

Mid-tone grape purple linear holographic 

Purple lovers rejoice! This one is for you. It has the same awesome formula that of the previous Fair Maiden with two coats for coverage. It's has a bit more prominent holo flame as well.

Okay now that I have the event details done, let's get to some of the polishes:

Elevation Polish Yeti is a Scaredy Cat

Yeti is a Scaredy Cat will be available during the Sales portion.

Glitter topper of orange, purple, and black glitter (including the requisite hearts!)

This is meant to be a Halloween inspired Yeti polish and I can defintiely ge that feeling with the orange and purple and black combination. It's a very fun mix of glitter and there are a ton of layering options. I decided to wear it over a pale orange and light purple, both of which were very complimentary to the glitters. I also loved how it looks over white, which is how Very Emily wore it. I had a nice amount of coverage with one coat over the base, though I fished a bit to get one or two of the hearts.

Yeti's Huangshan will be available during the Sales portion.

Glitter topper polish of neon and bright yellow glitter (including hearts) and orange/red iridescent flakes. Haunghshan was always a favorite of mine and I love this version of it. The hearts make it just that much more special. And the iridescent flakes pop really nicely over a darker color. I wanted to show this over a dark and light color so here it is over a nude and black.

Elevation Polish Yeti Lives in Siberia

Two coats

Yeti Lives in Siberia will be available only during the Auction portion.

Teal blue linear holographic

A absolutely stunning shade of teal! It's has more of a crelly consistency but was opaque enough that I needed just two coats for coverage. It has a medium density holo flame.

Elevation Polish Shimmery Rose

Two coats

Shimmery Rose will be available only during the Auction portion.

Warm cherry red crelly with red/orange color-shifting shimmer.

Shimmery Rose is a custom polish that Lulu created for me! When I received this custom last year, I received two bottles of it. I wanted to contribute to this year's event, so I donated one (unused) bottle back to Lulu for the auction. This shade of red is my favorite kind. It's so bright and bold and seriously sexy. The shimmer is hard to capture in photos but it's definitely there in person, giving you that "glows from within" effect.

Cupcake Polish Yeti Eats a Cupcake

Yeti Eats a Cupcake will be available only during the Auction portion.

Orchid pink crelly with pink shimmer and holographic pigment

Yeti Eats a Cupcake is one of the Yeti polish donations, this one is created by Cupcake Polish. The color looks a bit  purple toned in my photos, in person, it's a very vibrant orchid pink. And that shimmer, so so pretty. The holo flame is a lower density one.
