Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer We Saw The Stars (Partial) Collection plus Atlanta Indie Shop Exclusives: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hey everyone! I have lots of new (and a few not-so-new) things from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer today. The first five are part of the upcoming We Saw the Stars Collection, which is actually a twelve polish set, to see the other polishes in the collection, head on over to Cosmetic Sanctuary's blog review

Also included are the three exclusives for this weekend's Atlanta Indie Shop, all created to follow the Indie Shop's theme, Enchanted Forest. And finally, the last three polishes are older releases that will also be available at the Indie Shop, tickets to that are available here

Formula Notes:
Application wise, some were thicker in formula, but not overly so, just enough that you will likely want to apply thinner coats. I don't mind a thicker style polish but if you prefer a thinner formula, a couple drops or so of polish thinner will help. I love the variety of the colors and finishes, there are some lighter pinks as well as darker, vampy purples and greens, with holos, cremes, crellys, something for everyone. I really loved the three Atlanta Indie Ship exclusives especially The Cedar Forest, so for those who are not able to attend, find yourself a polish hookup!

The We Saw the Stars Collection will debut at the Atlanta Indie Shop along with the three exclusives and then released later in the month online in Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer's shop for pre-order starting March 27th through April 3rd.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer & Contrary Polish Destination Duo: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hey y'all! For today I have two new polishes from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer & Contrary Polish that make up this month's Destination Duo.

If you have seen previous Blue-Eyed Girl Destination collaborations, the polishes are created with a destination photo in mind. For this duo, the makers used this photo that Carrie (of Contrary Polish) took at the Sundance Film Festival:

The Duo will be released as a pre-order in both Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer's & Contrary Polish's shops from today, January 31st through Tuesday February 7th.

The duo will cost $20 shipped domestically or $20 with a prorated shipping fee internationally.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Special Selection
Three coats
Black cherry jelly with gold micro-flakes, gold holo micro-glitter, copper/gold/fuchsia and green/pink/gold ultra-chrome flakes
The pop of red from the photo translates to this vibrant and rich polish. I love how full of detail this is, with lots of flakes and gold. You will find that although you may get enough opacity in two coats, a light third coat deepens the color. A double layer of topcoat is recommended, I didn't realize that with the amount of flakes, the topcoat would settle a bit into the polish.

Contrary Polish Meet Me Under the Marquee
Three coats
Taupe jelly base with holo micro-flakes and various ultra-chrome flakes
The stately theater facade and it's columns are the inspiration point for this polish. I like that it's a cool contrast compared to the previous warm red. The taupe base is just sheer enough in color to allow the flakes to peep through. Application is nice and easy though you will probably need to apply three thinly applied coats for coverage.

The Color Box - Green: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hi everyone! I have a very special review for today. I was included in this round of The Color Box, which is a newer collaboration box.

The idea came from  Julie from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer, Manna from Manna's Manis and Jen of xoxo, Jen. They wanted to have a single color themed box of custom blogger designed polishes. In each box, they would invite new and well-known brands and bloggers. The fans vote for the color, and the box is then available via a pre-order launch that lasts a full week. Each brand also has the option of listing their polish in their own shop after the box has been shipped.

This time green was the color vote! I will admit that green is not my first color choice but I am really glad I joined as the green polishes these makers and bloggers came up with are truly outstanding.

The box pre-order starts on November 25th and through December 2nd at The Color Box shop

Blue Eyed-Girl Lacquer Green's Alexandrite With Me!
Two coats
Deep green holographic with green/purple & green/blue/purple ultra chrome flakes plus aqua/green color shifting flakes
Blogger An of The Polished Hippy worked with Julie of Blue Eyed-Girl Lacquer to come up with this green flake/shimmer/holo/awesomebomb of a polish.
Slightly thicker in formula, due to the various flakes and pigment but goes on okay with two thinner coats. I love how all those flakes are mixed together, it could have easily be muddled but it does not! It just looks complex and gorgeous polish.

 Fair Maiden Polish Hidden Lair
Two coats
Olive green holographic with chartreuse green flash
Blogger Jen of xoxo, Jen worked with Adrienne & Sarah of Fair Maiden Polish to bring us this WHOA type of holo. I love LOVE the flashes of chartreuse in the base. Applies flawlessly with two coats.

Great Lakes Lacquer Manna's Magical Masterpiece
Three coats
Sea green crelly with blue/green shifting shimmer, purple shimmer, and a dash of scattered holo
Blogger Manna of Manna's Manis worked with Mariah of Great Lakes Lacquer to create this swoon worthy sea green. The shimmer is magical. It has a thinner style formula so you may get opaque coverage in three to four coats depending on how you apply, I have it shown in with three coats.

 le polish Succulent Stargazer
Three coats
Light jadeite green crelly with silver and pink shimmer plus pink micro-flakes and platinum flakes
I am the blogger for this one! I worked with Allison of le polish. I had a Pinterest board filled with jadeite glass, dewy pink tinged succulents and goodness, Allison more than delivered. I love the delicateness of it all, with the light green that does look very much like jadeite glass and the silver and pink accents. Formula was easy to work with, I applied three thin coats and got the opacity I wanted.

NeVerMind Polish Princess Ozma
Two coats
Shimmery emerald green with holo micro-flakes
Blogger Karina of Just the Polished Tip worked with Jenn of NeVerMind Polish to design this shimmery green beauty. It's such a beautiful and lush shade of emerald and of course, the added holo give you the sparkle. Application was good, two thin coats for coverage.
