Anonamaker Collaboration Project Box 4: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hello! For today I have the newest Anonamaker Collaboration Project Box to share. What is the Anonamker Project? It's a collab box featuring multiple brands, with polishes inspired by the craziness that can come from the Acetone Alley Facebook group, with a key feature being a anonymous topic submission.

This round we have polishes from Pretty Jelly, Contrary Polish, Cameo Colours Lacquers, Lollipop Posse Lacquer, and Ellagee Polish plus a 6 ml rollerball cuticle oil from Cuter Cuticles
and a super salty little goodie bag including an Acetone Alley membership card AND a snarky popcorn magnet. In keeping tradition from previous boxes, I am not revealing which polish belongs to which brand but you may be able to guess from the bottles. Future editions will feature a different mix of brands.

Pre-order is available from May 3rd-13th in the Anonamker section of Ellagee's shop. The first 25 boxes will be ready for shipping on or before May 5. All box orders after the first 25 and all individual item orders will begin shipping on or before May 30.

Any additional items ordered with pre-order items will all ship at the same time.
The boxed set is $50 plus you can purchase individual bottles.

Introducing Polish Pickup - April 2017: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hey all! I have a few new polishes today from various brands, all created for a brand new shop. The Polish Pickup is a new monthly shop that you to submit theme ideas, vote on your favorite theme and then selectively purchase polishes from an awesome roster of brands. There will be multiple makers involved in the creation process, all following the monthly voted theme and the beauty of this set up is that you can purchase what you want, you don't have to buy an entire themed box just for the one/two/three polishes you really wanted. Intrigued? I hope so!

I am just touching the surface of the shop's concept, to learn more, you can visit the shop's FAQ and About pages and I definitely recommend joining the Polish Pickup Facebook Group to join in on the fun.

April's theme is "Famous Works of Art" with 18 brands involved. You will only have to visit one shop to purchase (The Polish Pickup Shop) and the pre-order purchase window will be the first Friday of the month, this time it will be April 7th - 10th, with one shipping fee and polishes shipping 2-3 weeks out.

*I am including the art inspiration photos provided from each maker below the polishes' description*

Contrary Polish Femmes au Puits
Three coats
Deep lilac crelly with matte micro-glitter in shades of orange, gold, blue, red, pink and green
Inspired by:
Paul Signac -  Femmes au puits
I love that maker Carrie went with a pointillism painting as her inspiration and the result is truly unique and so very pretty. It applies easily with three thinner style coats needed for opacity. It does dry to a textured finish, with the thinner base and the multitude of glitter so I recommend applying a double layer of topcoat.

Girly Bits Cosmetics Glass Scale Dragon
Two coats
Aquatic blue scattered holographic with blue and silver holo, bronze, red, blue and violet flakes, and blue and  violet shimmer
Inspired by
The mosaic dragon sculpture by Gaudi at Park Guell in Barcelona, Spain.
This will glimmer and sparkle in the sun, just as I would imagine the dragon sculpture would too. Lots of detailing going on with the holo/shimmer/flakes but like the mosaic design, it flows well and doesn't feel fussy, just complex. The formula is thicker but flows well and goes on easily with two coats needed for coverage.

Lollipop Posse Lacquer Good Morning, Lollipop!
Two coats
Seafoam green creme with various types and sizes of red/pink shimmer
Inspired by
Frederick Carl Frieseke - In the Doorway (Good Morning)
Lightly and lovely! The seafoam green is a very fresh looking green, which is how I feel when I view the painting. The delicate pink shimmer picks up from the dress, I love how that plays into the interpretation. The application was without issues, slightly thicker in formula and opaque in two coats.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer & Contrary Polish Destination Duo: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hey y'all! For today I have two new polishes from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer & Contrary Polish that make up this month's Destination Duo.

If you have seen previous Blue-Eyed Girl Destination collaborations, the polishes are created with a destination photo in mind. For this duo, the makers used this photo that Carrie (of Contrary Polish) took at the Sundance Film Festival:

The Duo will be released as a pre-order in both Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer's & Contrary Polish's shops from today, January 31st through Tuesday February 7th.

The duo will cost $20 shipped domestically or $20 with a prorated shipping fee internationally.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Special Selection
Three coats
Black cherry jelly with gold micro-flakes, gold holo micro-glitter, copper/gold/fuchsia and green/pink/gold ultra-chrome flakes
The pop of red from the photo translates to this vibrant and rich polish. I love how full of detail this is, with lots of flakes and gold. You will find that although you may get enough opacity in two coats, a light third coat deepens the color. A double layer of topcoat is recommended, I didn't realize that with the amount of flakes, the topcoat would settle a bit into the polish.

Contrary Polish Meet Me Under the Marquee
Three coats
Taupe jelly base with holo micro-flakes and various ultra-chrome flakes
The stately theater facade and it's columns are the inspiration point for this polish. I like that it's a cool contrast compared to the previous warm red. The taupe base is just sheer enough in color to allow the flakes to peep through. Application is nice and easy though you will probably need to apply three thinly applied coats for coverage.

The regular prices will be $11 for a full-size bottle and $5.50 for a mini bottle. If you purchase The Lady is Vamp Monday through Wednesday (December 7th), the discounted price will be $10 (full size) and $5 (mini bottle).
Contrary Polish The Lady is a Vamp
Fantasmic Flakies Custom
Two coats
Deep red with pink ultra chrome flakes, holographic flakes, and black micro-flakes
The red has some purple in the coloring. For those who do love vampy colors and/or flakes, this is a must have. It's so richly saturated and very easy to apply, I have to shown with two coats. I have it shown below with matte topcoat too. You lose the squish and shine from the jelly finish but you can see the flakes a bit more clearly.

Contrary Polish A Gothic A Gothic Winter Collection: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hi all! I have polishes from Contrary Polish today. These six are part of A Gothic Winter Collection, inspired by some of maker Carrie's favorite Gothic novels (specifically Victorian Gothic up through Southern Gothic and Contemporary American Gothic).

As you will see, each polish has a darker base with lots of contrasting shimmer and scattered holo sparkle. I love the concept and how deeply vampy the polishes are, if you are craving this sort of coloring for winter months, you will definitely love these. Formula notes are about the same for each polish, so I will mention those under the first polish and cut and paste (c/p) for the following ones too.

A Gothic Winter Collection will be debuting on Black Friday, November 25th in Contrary Polish's shop

There is a huge sale info sheet at the bottom of the post, so make sure to check that out. This collection will not be applicable to sale code but will also have a slight discount for this sale period, each polish will be $10, afterward, they will be regularly priced at $11 each. There will also be a gift with purchase polish shown at the end of the post, which will be a free polish for those who order the full collection.

Contrary Polish A Charm of Stillness
Two coats
Deep blue-leaning green with gold shimmer and scattered holo sparkle
Inspired by: The Turn of the Screw by Henry James
A cooler toned, dark green beauty. It is a thicker style formula, not surprising considering how heavy shimmer and holo particles. But it applies easily and needs just two coats for coverage.

Contrary Polish Almost Unearthly Thing
Two coats
Taupe with rosy pink shimmer and scattered holo sparkle.
Inspired by: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
Oh my. I tend not to go for the taupe/gray/brown but I love the contrasting pink shimmer in the base color. c/p: It is a thicker style formula, not surprising considering how heavy shimmer and holo particles. But it applies easily and needs just two coats for coverage.

Contrary Polish An Imperfect Magic
Two coats
Deep purple with cobalt blue shimmer and scattered holo sparkle.
Inspired by: We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson
Hot damn, this is absolutely gorgeous. I predict that this will be a fan favorite. The deep purple with the blue shimmer makes it the ultimate blurple. c/p: It is a thicker style formula, not surprising considering how heavy shimmer and holo particles. But it applies easily and needs just two coats for coverage.

Contrary Polish Discordant Melody
Two coats
Dark magenta with turquoise shimmer and scattered holo sparkle
Inspired by: Other Voices, Other Rooms by Truman Capote
This may be my personal favorite though, I adore how that turquoise shimmer pops against the dark berry base. c/p: It is a thicker style formula, not surprising considering how heavy shimmer and holo particles. But it applies easily and needs just two coats for coverage.

Contrary Polish Fear of Sleep
Two coats
Dark teal with blue/purple shimmer and scattered holo sparkle
Inspired by: Dracula by Bram Stoker
This is a close second favorite because dark and vampy blues are perfection. c/p: It is a thicker style formula, not surprising considering how heavy shimmer and holo particles. But it applies easily and needs just two coats for coverage.

Contrary Polish Illimitable Dominion
Two coats
Burgundy with red/copper shimmer and scattered holo sparkle
Inspired by: The Masque of the Red Death by Edgar Allen Poe
Another reddish polish in the collection but this is warmer with the gold shimmer. c/p: It is a thicker style formula, not surprising considering how heavy shimmer and holo particles. But it applies easily and needs just two coats for coverage.

Contrary Polish Midnight in the Dark
Two coats
Gift with purchase only for full collection orders
Deep navy with green shimmer and scattered holo sparkle
Inspired by: The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield
I highly recommend getting the set if you can, just for this stunner. c/p: It is a thicker style formula, not surprising considering how heavy shimmer and holo particles. But it applies easily and needs just two coats for coverage.
