NARS Purple Rain and Illamasqua Phallic

How about a couple of vampy nails to make it through Wednesday? I could not think of two better to post about than NARS Purple Rain and Illamasqua Phallic.

Purple Rain is deep red toned purple with purple and blue shimmer. Every time I wear it, I feel the overwhelming urge to sing "I only wanted to see you underneath the purple rain".

Phallic is a deep midnight blue with blue shimmer. I love this type of deep dark blue and the Illamasqua polish formula makes Phallic especially nice.

Purple Rain is available on Amazon.com and Nars.com. Phallic is available on Illamasqua.com.

Elevation Polish Tettegouche, Temperance, and Cascade

Here is the thing with sweeping statements like "I don't like brown polish", something, or in this case, multiple things will come along and change your perspective. Elevation Polish's Brown Jelly Trio is a set that made a me a lover of brown polish. I can't say that I will be seeking out more brown colors but I am definitely more open than I was before.

Out of this trio, Tettegouche is darker chocolate brown, Temperance is a lighter caramel brown and Cascade is a brick red brown. All are jelly formula polishes, giving them shiny finishes and very easy application. I applied a ridge filling base coat, then three coats of polish and one coat of top coat within each photo. My favorite out of the three is Temperance, something about that rich caramel color is wonderful to me.

The Hungry Asian Sneeze Breeze

One of my favorite blue polishes has to be The Hungry Asian Sneeze Breeze. Something about this look just makes the blue polish lover inside me sigh in happiness. Sneeze Breeze is made up of blue and black matte fine glitter, though the polish could be worn solo with multiple coats, I ended up layering two coats over China Glaze Hanging in the Balance. A generous layer of Gelous and topcoat to finish off and then you will be pretty in black and blue.

Sneeze Breeze is available within The Hungry Asian's Etsy shop in full and mini bottles.

Elevation Polish Ave Secretan

Ave Secretan is a part of Elevation Polish's upcoming Buttes-Chaumont collection, set to be released in February. I applied two coats of Ave Secretan and 1 layer of topcoat. This lovely and vivid cherry pink polish has a creme formula but dries to very shiny jelly-like finish. In actuality, the polish appears more pink and less red than is shown in my photos. Formula is perfection but I would not expect anything else from Elevation Polish.

Ave Secretan will be available within Elevation Polish's shop on February 7th. Updates on stocking, new colors, and all other Elevation Polish information can be found on Elevation Polish's blog.
