Different Dimension Valentine's Day Collection plus Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler 2.0 and Luck & Leprechauns: Swatches and Review

Good morning! I have two new collections from Different Dimension to share with you all today. For this first post, I have the Valentine's Day Collection as well as Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler 2.0 and Luck & Leprechauns. All the polishes shown here will be released this Friday, January 23rd at 9 pm EST in Different Dimension's shop.

Different Dimension Eros

Two coats

Red jelly with gold shimmer

Eros was known as the Greek god of love and sexual desire.

A Valentine's Day collection would not be complete without a red polish and Eros is a very nice red with it's heavy gold shimmer.

Different Dimension Pothos

Three coats

Silver metallic flake with holographic shimmer

Pothos was known as the Greek god of sexual longing, yearning, and desire

This has a slight pink tint to it, giving it an antiqued look.

Different Dimension Anteros

Two coats

Silver and pink holographic micro-glitter

Anteros was known as the Greek god of requited love.

I personally love this type of polish, the heavy and opaque micro-glitter, though they do need some more topcoat than usual to get a nice smooth finish.

Different Dimension Hedylogos

Two coats

Magenta jelly with magenta holographic micro-glitter

Hedylogos was known as the Greek god of sweet talk and flattery.

The holo micro-glitter in the magenta base gives off a lit-from-within quality.

Three coats

Gold, green, purple, and silver holographic micro-glitter

A Mardi Gras themed polish.

I love this one. You can see the Mardi Gras color inspiration but it's wearable all year round.

Darling Diva Polish Valentine's Day Collection: Swatches and Review

Hey everyone! I have Darling Diva Polish's upcoming Valentine's Day Collection to share with you today. This six polish collection has a variety of colors and finishes all with names inspired by bad pick up lines. The names, well you will either love them or hate them but to me they are hilariously over the top and another reason I love this brand. I am missing one polish from the collection, My Doctor Says I'm Lacking Vitamin U, but Set in Lacquer has it posted on her blog.

The Valentine's Day Collection will go on sale this Friday, January 23rd, in Darling Diva's shop. I am not sure of the time, though likely in the evening, but check out their Facebook page for updates.

Darling Diva Polish Hey, Baby! Wanna Make a Big Mistake?

Two coats

Cherry red jelly base with iridescent blue/violet glitter and flakes and added holo shimmer

A red polish in this type of collection is a given but this is taking the color red and making it a must have. The iridescence is perfect in the cherry red color.

Darling Diva Polish That Dress Would Look Great On My Bedroom Floor!

Two coats

Black jelly base with silver, blue, and violet micro-flake shimmer.

On the opposite end of the color spectrum and every bit as good. I was not expecting to see such a deep, dark, and mysterious polish to be part of the collection but I am very happy that it is.

Darling Diva Polish Nice Shoes! Wanna F*ck?

Two coats

Pale petal pink holo micro-glitter

A lady-like color with a not so lady-like name, which is what I feel is a perfect representation of Darling Diva as a brand. The soft color comes alive in the sun with it's holo sparkle. This will dry gritty, so a few layers of topcoat, or my method of Gelous and topcoat, is needed.

The cousin to Nice Shoes! Wanna F*ck? and while this one does dry to a satin finish, it's not as gritty as the pink.

Darling Diva Polish Are You Medusa? Because You Make Me Rock Hard!

My favorite of the collection but that probably is not a surprise. I love Darling Diva red holos and this an awesome addition. It will be a tad darker than my photos show it as. If you are comparing this to The Alchemist, another Darling Diva red, it is not nearly as bright as The Alchemist.

Cupcake Polish The Queen Collection: Swatches and Review

Good morning! For your Tuesday, I have a new collection from Cupcake Polish. The Queen Collection is a five piece set of shimmer holographic polishes, all inspired by Queens of state from European history. I am continually impressed by Cupcake Polish's collections. These five holographic polishes have amazing shimmer and are so so pretty, both in and out of the sun. Since they are shimmer heavy, they are a little thick formula wise. This is not a problem with application though, as they only need one to two coats for full coverage. I applied two coats for each of my swatches, followed by my regular topcoat.

Sara from Cupcake Polish included a little blurb on each of the Queens that inspired the collection, so I will include that under each polish description in italics.

The Queen Collection will be released this Thursday, January 22nd at 10 am CST, in Cupcake Polish's shop. They are priced at $13 each BUT if you get the entire set of five during the first 24 hours of sale, there will be a $5 discount for the set. Cupcake Polish Catherine

Two coats
Magenta berry metallic linear holographic with pink shimmer
Inspired by Catherine II of Russia (otherwise known as Catherine the Great)
Catherine ruled during Russia's Golden Age and is credited for expanding the Russian empire and allowing the arts to flourish during her reign.
Such a good looking jewel toned color. Instant love!

Cupcake Polish Eleanor

Two coats

Black linear holographic with pink to blue color-shifting shimmer

Eleanor is inspired by Eleanor of Aquitaine.

Eleanor ruled during the high middle ages. Eleanor is credited for transforming the French province of Aquitaine into the center of knowledge and culture during her reign.

The color-shifting shimmer in that black base makes it a little brown in tone as well as making it the most complex in coloring of the five.

Cupcake Polish Maria

Two coats
Royal blue metallic linear holographic with green shimmer.
Maria is inspired by Maria Theresa of Austria.
Maria Theresa is credited for making many improvements to her kingdom during her reign. She valued arts, medical advancements, and education and helped improve these in Austria.
That green shimmer is wonderful against the blue and I couldn't quite capture it for you in my photos but believe me, it's there.

Cupcake Polish Elizabeth

Two coats

Light gold metallic linear holographic with gold shimmer

Elizabeth is inspired by Elizabeth I of England.

Elizabeth is credited for bringing religious tolerance to England. She also brought the Renaissance to her kingdom, a period where creative thinking was plentiful.

I love gold polishes and this is one awesome gold polish. It's not brassy in coloring and with the added gold shimmer, it's sparkles like crazy in the sun.

Cupcake Polish Victoria

Deep purple with a red shift metallic linear holographic with pink shimmer

Victoria is inspired by Victoria of the United Kingdom.

Victoria is considered one of the most influential Queens in history because of her 63 year reign spanning 6 continents. Victoria is credited for bringing both political and social reforms to her kingdom.

A very "Royal" purple, perfectly fit for a Queen. Compared to the previously released Yule Be Missing Me, this is more red toned and it's holo flame is a bit less prominent but that's expected with a shimmer heavy polish.

Darling Diva Polish Monster Crush Collection: Swatches and Review

Hey all! I have Darling Diva Polish's Monster Crush Collection for you today. This is a 8 polish collection, all full of chrome flakie goodness, broken down into two sets. Set 1 are the first four polishes in this post (specifically Tilasha, Verad, Hellea, & Prilea) and are meant as toppers, though if you wanted to wear them by themselves, you could build opacity with 4 or 5 coats. I have the holo versions, there are non-holo versions of set 1 available as well.

Set 2 are the four polishes at the bottom of the post (specifically Cahule, Lucasha, Ramagos, & Ursha). These are more full coverage polishes and can easily be worn by themselves as they get opaque in 2 to 3 coats.

As for formula and application notes, these apply very easily. I would recommend waiting a minute or two between coats as well as before applying a layer of topcoat to prevent dragging. The chrome flakies are a bit more delicate than other polishes. You can handle the bottles as you would other bottles but using a machine shaker or other methods of vigorous shaking would not be advised.

Each and every single polish is this collection is seriously stunning. Carrie did a wonderful job of putting her Darling Diva spin on these chrome flakies we have been seeing lately. I do prefer the topper polishes in set 1, mostly because I feel like they give you a bit more freedom with choosing layering options, though Ursha is my favorite polish of the entire collection, it's so striking.
