Hella Holo Customs - Crows Toes: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hello! I have three new Crows Toes polishes to share with you all today. This set of three are exclusives this month to the Hella Holo Customs Facebook group. I mentioned this group in a previous review last year if you recall. To be able to purchase these polishes, you will need to be a member of the Hella Holo Customs group. If you are not already a member, you can email the admins at this email to join: hellaholocustomercare@gmail.com

As for this trio of Crows Toes, they will be available in Crows Toes' shop until the end of the month (which is just in a few days!). The price shown in the shop is not the actual price, once you join the Hella Holo Customs group, there is a sale post with a discount code, which drop the price to $12.50 for each polish.

Crows Toes Abracadabra
Three coats
A mix of a variety of multi-colored ultra-chrome and taupe flakes plus holographic micro-glitter
I feel like I need to break out a gif of me drooling to show you guys just how much I lust for this polish. It's so sparkly and the combination of all those flakes is magical. Abracadabra indeed. It's somewhat thick so I applied three thin coats for opacity.

Crows Toes Hot Headed Red
Two coats
Medium red with magenta/red orange/orange gold multi-chrome shimmer and holographic micro-glitter
Oh yes, love a good fiery red and this has that awesome shift to it, which is more apparent in person. And those holo sparks are like bonus sprinkles on top. This was on the thick side so two thinly applied coats will work best for coverage.

(Artificial Lighting)

Crows Toes Mintally Unstable
Two coats
Pale minty green linear holographic with pink to gold color-shifting shimmer plus violet sparks
Absolutely lovely. It's a dewy looking mint toned green and the pink shimmer is subtle but not hidden. Formula was a bit thinner than Hot Headed Red and you will get full coverage in two to three coats.

Crème à la Mode Spring 2016 Box: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hi everyone! I hope everyone is having a good Easter Sunday and for those that do not observe Easter, happy Sunday! I have new-to-me collaborative box on my blog for you all today. This quarterly box is an all creme polish box, featuring polishes from Digital Nails, Indigo Bananas, Literary Lacquers, and Octopus Party Nail Lacquer.

In the past I have purchased individual polishes from a couple of the brands in this box but this was my first experience with all four together. I love the bright pop of color from this spring seasonal box and how well they played off each other. As for the price, for all four polishes, this box is $26! WHAT? Yeah I know, crazy awesome. Shipping is additional of course but damn, you can't beat that. If you miss out on this sale though, you will have the chance to purchase each polish from each's respective brand's shop later on.

The Crème à la Mode Spring 2016 Box is available via pre-order sale, which is open as of today, March 27th through April 3rd in Crème à la Mode's shop and will ship about two weeks following that.

Digital Nails Water You Wading For
Two coats
Saturated dusty periwinkle creme
Hello there you pretty blue. Bright and dusky at the same time somehow. I had a couple of pink spots on the side of my bottle of undissolved pigment. I did not see any when I applied my polish and maker Raphaelle is aware and this issue will be resolved before the box ships. As for application, two easy coats.

(Artificial light)

Indigo Bananas Smoke on the Otter
Three coats
Pale warm leaning grey creme
I really like this color, it's a very pale gray which you can pull out to wear as a nice palate cleanser or as a base for all sorts of nail art possibility. Formula was thinner than the others, so I got full opacity with three coats.

(Artificial light)

Literary Lacquers Salmon Chanted Evening
Two coats
Bright coral creme
A beautiful and bright salmon pink coral. Very fluid and opaque, so I just needed two thinly applied coats for coverage. I did run in a couple of issues though, I had a couple of small bits of pigment as well as a wonky and bent brush which made it a bit more problematic when I applied it. Maker Amy was made aware and it sounds like I got a bad bottle and this will not be an issue for polishes in the pre-order.

(Artificial light)

Octopus Party Nail Lacquer The Algae-atic Sea
Two coats
Muted neon mint-leaning green creme
This is one of those green shades that falls between mint and jade, however you want to label it though, it's fresh and quite lovely. Easy application with two coats.

(Artificial light)

Nail art yay! These polishes just beg to be worn together so I did a dotted gradient using the blue, green, and coral over the light gray as my base.

Great Lakes Lacquer April LE's: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hi everyone! I have a lot of exciting spring releases to share with you within the next week and to start I have Great Lakes Lacquer's April monthly limited edition releases. These five polishes will be available starting April 1st at 3 pm EST until May 2nd at 7 pm EST in Great Lakes Lacquer's shop.

Great Lakes Lacquer Fools Gold
Four coats
Gold holo micro-glitter with pale pink holo micro-glitter plus peach and rose micro-flakes
Note from the maker:
A nod toward that tradition of April Fools!
An interesting and unique gold, with it's strong pink/peach coloring. You could wear this as a topper, applying one coat over another base color. I personally like the look of it worn by itself, built to opacity in four thinner coats.

Great Lakes Lacquer Lilac Love
Three coats
Light pinkish purple with aqua shimmer and a scattered holo effect
Note from the maker:
My absolutely favorite flower ever. This spring bloom always just means home to me. I have a small bush in my front yard and it was the clincher in actually buying the house in the first place.
So very springy and fresh looking. I love lilac polishes and flowers too so it wasn't a surprise that this one ended up being my favorite. Three coats for coverage.

Great Lakes Lacquer Out Like a Lion
Three coats
White crelly with various colored ultra-chrome flakes and micro-flakes
Note from the maker:
Another nod to April Fools. Winter likes to trick you into thinking that it's gone when it's not. This year it spared us all the way up til the end. Then walloped us before it left.
Loaded with those awesome ultra-chrome flakes that pop against the white base. This was thinner is opacity but three coats got me coverage.

Great Lakes Lacquer Stop. Stepping. On. My. Hyacinths.
Three coats
Medium blue toned purple with multi-chrome flakes
Note from the maker:
I love Hyacinths. Absolutely love. Next to lilacs, they are my favorite spring flower. They do not last nearly long enough for me. So I get a bit frustrated when those that are planted next to my porch are constantly stepped on. This year, I plan on moving them.
Lovely! Another chrome flake in crelly but with completely different coloring. I applied three coats for coverage.

Great Lakes Lacquer The Ice is on Fire
Two coats
Medium blue green with shimmer that shifts from red to gold to green
Note from the maker:
Inspired by the ice caves that form when Lake Michigan freezes up by Traverse City. Add some light from sunrise or sunset and you get magic.
The color is dusky but not overly so, just enough blue in the green to be one of those mysterious shades. This was the most opaque of the bunch needing just two coats for coverage.

Glisten & Glow Winter Remix YWP Collaboration Collection: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hey all! I have more creme polishes from Glisten & Glow, however this time it's a previously released collection. These four are part of her collaboration with Young Wild and Polished and were originally released in December as a Winter set.

I was impressed by the quality of these creme polishes. They were so easy to apply needing two coats each for coverage. They self leveled well and had a nice shine to them even before I applied my standard topcoat. And really for the price alone ($7.50 each) you will be wanting some if not all of these.

The Winter Remix YWP Collaboration Collection is available now in Glisten & Glow's shop. You can purchase the full four polish set for a slightly discounted $29 or individually for $7.50.

Glisten & Glow Dukeberry
Two coats
Dusky mauve creme with purple undertones
This is most definitely my favorite of the four, the color is very rich looking.

Glisten & Glow Frosty Camel
Two coats
Medium sandy brown taupe creme

Glisten & Glow OG Snowman
Two coats
Pale gray creme

Glisten & Glow Topaz's Cabin
Two coats
Dark blue gray creme

Model City Polish Things I Love Collection: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hi everyone! I have a few polishes from Model City Polish to share today. These three are polishes that are inspired by some of maker Nina's favorite albums and in three of her favorite finishes. The three shown here are available right now in Model City Polish's shop!

Model City Polish Holiday
Three coats
Smoky purple crelly with small pink hearts, silver holographic, grey, purple iridescent glitter
I tend to shy away from crelly polishes but this one was really nice with it's purple/gray coloring and the hearts, love those pink hearts. It was somewhat opaque in two coats with a bit of visible nail so I did a third coat for complete coverage.

Model City Polish Liberty City
Three coats
Blue jelly with white and silver holographic stars plus green and blue holographic hexes
Wow, this is so blue and striking! And jam packed with glitter but despite that, not troublesome at all with application.
Inspired by the band Less Than Jake

(Artificial lighting)

Model City Polish Making Friends
Two coats
Warm red linear holographic
Goodness, will you look at that red beauty? This is definitely my favorite shade of red and in holo form it is fantastic. Application is so so good, needing just two coats for coverage and a medium high linear holo flame.
Inspired by the album Double Plaidinum by Lagwagon
