Great Lakes Lacquer Polish Con NYC 2017 LE's: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hello! For today I have new polishes from Great Lakes Lacquer. These four are limited editions created for Polish Con and although they will debut at Polish Con NYC on April 29th, they will not be exclusive to the event. If you are not able to go to Polish Con, you will be able to purchase these in Great Lakes Lacquer's shop on May 5th at 2 pm EST through May 12th, limited to that sale date window.

Great Lakes Lacquer A Bite of the Big Apple
Two coats
Magenta red jelly with purple to red multi-chrome flake, purple/blue/gold iridescent flakes, and copper and on tone shimmer
Holy shitsnacks this is amazing! I looove the contrast of those flakes in the bold magenta base. Applies like a dream with two coats for coverage.

Great Lakes Lacquer Brooklyn Shenanigan
Two coats
Royal purple linear holographic with a multi-chrome shift from intense red to gold and orange
YES. YES. YES.
Clearly going to be a in demand polish. So very pretty. Applies really well, I got coverage in two coats, if you have longer nails, you may find that you need three coats.

Great Lakes Lacquer Coney Island Queen
Two coats
Grayed out blue base multi-chrome with shifts from bright blue to purple to fuchsia to orange and scattered holo effect.
This is a more subdued color but not less fantastic. The shift is a little subtle but definitely there. The creme based formula is slightly thicker than the previous two polishes but applies without issue.

Great Lakes Lacquer Spring at Prospect Park
Two coats
Sky blue crelly with shifting flake of the iridescent and multi-chrome variety that include the colors blue, gold, green, and purple with shimmer that shifts from green to blue and a scattering of holo.
Another beautiful polish, good gosh Mariah killed it with these. Again, the contrast of base and flakes here is wonderful, especially with that vibrant sky blue color. I was expecting to need three coats and was happy to see that I needed just two. Longer nails or those who apply thinner coats may need three.

Different Dimension Polish Con NYC 2017 Exclusives: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hey guys and gals! I have three new polishes from Different Dimension to share. The first two are Polish Con limited editions that will debut at Polish Con, April 29th, and be available all month long in May in Different Dimension's shop. The final third polish, In a New York Minute, is a Polish Con event exclusive.

Different Dimension Be There or Be Square
Two coats
Steel grey linear holographic with silver holographic micro-glitter
The grey brings to mind the concrete jungle that is New York City. It's a cooler toned grey, which I prefer and the glints from the holo glitter are a nice bit of extra sparkle. Nice fluid formula with coverage in two coats.

Different Dimension Central Park Before Dark
Two coats
Camouflage green linear holographic with silver holographic micro-glitter
During my visits to NYC in the past, Central Park always felt like a beautiful refuge from the busy city and I love how the vibrant greenery translated to this green holo. Same application experience, so overall easy to put on.

Different Dimension In a New York Minute
Two coats
Peachy nude linear holographic with strong pink shimmer
This one is the Polish Con exclusive and I would highly recommend picking it up at the event. It's a peachy nude with golden metallic overtones from the holo pigment. Application was without issue.

The Holo Hookup May 2017 Box: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hey y'all! For today, I have May's Holo Hookup Box to share. Along with polishes from Cupcake Polish, Different Dimension, and Glisten & Glow, this month's guest maker is Cadillacquer. The theme is 'Off To Broadway' with the inspiration pic below:

The May 2017 Holo Hookup Box will be available April 21st at 9 pm EST until April 28th at 9 pm EST only in the Holo Hookup shop.

Important! ---> May's box is NOT a pre-order and will be sold in a first come, first serve basis. So while it falls under the same time frame as previous pre-order windows, once it sells out, it will be marked sold out.

The box is $40 plus shipping which will be available domestically and internationally.

Cupcake Polish Defying Gravity
Two coats
Lime green linear holographic with gold shimmer, gold flakes, and holo micro-glitter
Inspired by: Wicked
Could you make a "Wicked" inspired polish and have it be any other color? Well you could, but this is exactly what I would have envisioned myself. Lots of extra detailing from the flakes, shimmer and glitter. Nice smooth application with just two coats needed for coverage.

Different Dimension I Am Not Throwing Away My Shot
Two coats
Metallic brown linear holographic with copper and gold shimmer and gold micro-flakes
Inspired by: Hamilton
I have not had the pleasure of seeing Hamilton but picturing the show-bill and costuming, this inspired polish fits well. I love metallic holos and the golden brown coloring is oh so tasty. Slightly thicker formula and over-all easy application with two coats.

Glisten & Glow Bend & Snap
Two coats
Punch pink with coral undertones linear holographic polish with glistening platinum flakes and and scattered turquoise flakes
Inspired by: Legally Blonde
As with the Wicked inspired polish, could you have any other color but pink for this "Legally Blonde" polish? Nope! I stand firm on that. This is an understated but still quite saturated punch pink and I like how the platinum flakes glint in the base. No issues with formula or application.

Cadillacquer Sing Once Again With Me
Three coats
Silver linear holographic with red shimmer and small red and black glitter
Inspired by: Phantom of the Opera
I have to confess that I hate the musical and story of Phantom of the Opera. It's....just not for me. BUT! This is a lovely and sparkly polish, and ties in well with the inspiration, so regardless if you are fan of the musical or not, I think many will appreciate its beauty. It is a bit more sheer in formula,  three coats got me the opacity I have shown here.

GlitterDaze Futuristic Collection: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hello! Today brings some newer polishes from GlitterDaze Cosmetics. In addition to the Spring Whimsy Collection, she recently released this Futuristic Collection, which is available now in GlitterDaze's shop.

Formula Notes:
This set consists of six polishes, in two different sort of formula/finishes. The first of the three  are all flake polishes that are a bit more sparse in coverage. You could easily layer and need only one coat over a base color but I like to build up coverage when I can. I applied three thinner style coats with a little bit of visible nail line.

The final three polishes are high density linear holographic color-shifting multi-chromes. Lots of color shifting going on, lots of holo flame, all things I love. These were definitely my preference of the set. They go on smoothly, needing just two coats for coverage. Overall, I think all polishes are high impact, color-shifting polishes, it will just depend on which sort of finish you prefer.
