Pahlish Coney Island Queen Collection

Shannon, the mastermind behind Pahlish, provided me with her Coney Island Queen Collection and I am very exited to share them here. This spring collection is inspired by Lana Del Rey's lyrics and style. While wearing these colors, you may think of laying out on the grass on a sunny spring day and getting to wear flowy spring dresses again. I applied three coats with each polish because I knew that I was going to take photos of them. Really though, each one could have been fine with just two coats. Very nice creamy formula for them all, nothing too thick or thin. I love how Pahlish created such a varied collection, these are polishes that could appeal to a really wide group of customers.

Coney Island Queen is a nude creme with metallic gold micro flakes.

His Favorite Sundress is a peachy coral creme with gold shimmer and orange glitter.

Mind Like a Diamond is a purple toned gray creme with charcoal shimmer and micro flakes.

Sugar Venom is a BRIGHT pink creme with pink duochrome micro flakies and varied berry colored glitter throughout.

Singing in the Garden is a dusty sage green creme with pink-teal shimmer and varied olive colored glitter throughout.

Anticipating and Pacing (my personal favorite of the collection) is a dusty coral red creme with gold shimmer and varied bold blue glitter throughout.

These will be available Friday March 1st (that's tomorrow!) at 7 pm CST in the Pahlish Etsy Shop. News, updates on stocking, and sneak peaks of new colors can be found on the Pahlish Facebook page

Happy Hands Am I Not Yours? and The Worst is Over

Am I Not Yours? and The Worst is Over are a part of Happy Hands Faint of Heart collection. Am I Not Yours? has a teal green jelly base with blue, light green and teal glitters. Since the base is somewhat sheer, layering may be best and I layered it over Nars Zulu. The Worst is Over has a dusky purple creme base with red, pink, orange and teal glitters. I applied this solo in three coats. I do like both of these colors but Am I Not Yours? is definitely my favorite of the two, it just glows from within.

Pretty & Polished I'm Not a Banana, My Lumps, and King of C-C-Cool

The polishes that I have to show today are from Pretty & Polished Mathematical collection inspired by the show Adventure Time. I have only watched a few episodes of Adventure Time here and there. However, as someone who is not totally familiar with the show, just looking at these colors and characters, I can still see how clearly Adventure Time's influence was.

I'm Not a Banana draws inspiration from Jake the Dog. It's a yellow jelly with white and black hexes. Though sheer, the jelly is thick enough that I was able to apply three coats and get full coverage. I love, LOVE this egg yolk yellow color.

My Lumps references Lumpy Space Princess. It is a purple jelly with yellow and purple shards of glitter. Careful application is needed but I do like the look of it. I applied a layer of matte topcoat to make the yellow shards stand out.

The Ice King is represented by King of C-C-Cool. This polish is light blue creme with white diamonds, red micro-glitter, blue and yellow hexes. Easy application with two coats.

The Mathematical collection polishes can be purchased on the Pretty & Polished website as well as her Etsy store

Color Club Beyond, Eternal Beauty, and Cosmic Fate

These are the newest Spring 2013 Halo Hues holographic polishes. Beyond is a very pigmented black holo, much more than my non dud bottle of Revvvolution. I don't know how it holds up against Jade Magic Negra, I will have to wear them together one sunny afternoon. Eternal Beauty is a bright purple holo and while it's very pretty, Wild at Heart still holds it's place as my favorite purple holo polish. Cosmic Fate is OMFG, holo as can possibly be. It probably has to do with the copper color itself but it is much more holographic than the other two polishes. Cosmic Fate is my favorite of all the new Color Club Halo Hues.

Color Club Harp On It and Cherubic

Harp On It and Cherubic are part of Color Club's Halo Hues collection. These were released a while ago but I only recently bought them along with some of the newer colors. I want to say that Harp on It is just a little shy of being as holo as Urban Outfitters Silver Hologram but still, it really shows off that holo flame. Much better than Color Club's previously released silver holographic polish Worth the Risque. Cherubic is a lovely tan holo polish, a nice neutral with a twist that would be appropriate for most office environments  Both of these applied very easily without any sort of aqua base.

Nina Ulta Pro Cobalt

There is nothing quite like a jelly polish to make things all right. Nina Pro Cobalt is one of my favorite jellies. The formula is not a thin as some jellies so I can apply only two coats and get full coverage. I have become used to the paddle brush, to the point that I....almost like it? No no, that's just the rubber cement like fumes from the polish. If you happen to stop by Sally Beauty Supply and haven't purchased this polish, I highly recommend doing so.

Nina Ultra Pro Cobalt can be purchased in stores at Sally Beauty Supply or their website

Urban Outfitters Green and Silver Hologram

I picked up bottles of Green and Silver Hologram polishes from Urban Outfitters some time ago and finally got the chance to wear them one bright and sunny weekend. Not much to say about these except WOW, these are holo! Very easy application, no special aqua base is needed and they dry very quickly. I wish the colors were more unique, especially for the price ($10, ouch) but otherwise these are pretty awesome holographic polishes.
