Lacquistry I Love Halloween and Heeere's Johnny

Are you all tired of seeing Halloween nails yet? I hope not because I have a couple more to share. Lacquistry I Love Halloween is filled with orange  and black hex, bar, heart shaped and micro-glitter. Heeere's Johnny has silver and orange glitter and I layered that over a black base. Both are very fun and very Halloween to me. I used an Elevation Polish purple polish sample as a base color. At this time, the Elevation polish is not for public release. Happy Halloween everyone!

Lacquistry I Love Halloween and Heeere's Johnny are no longer available, they were limited edition Lacquistry polishes. There are other items available at this time in Lacquistry's Etsy store and check her Facebook page for updates.

Manglaze Butt Taco and Lesbihonest

Every time I see Manglaze polishes, I feel happy. The packaging, the names, they amuse me, probably more than they should. And the formula for these are just so good. They dry to a matte finish but a layer of topcoat will bring out the shimmer and give some shine.

The Hungry Asian Jinx

Jinx is another recent release from The Hungry Asian's line. It's not something I've seen before but it fits in nicely within a fall themed collection. It has a black jelly base and assorted fall foliage colored glitter of orange, red, yellow, copper, and gold. I used three coats but that's not unusual with a jelly base.

Jinx is out of stock at the moment in The Hungry Asian's Etsy shop but check her Facebook page for updates.

Contrary Polish Hayride with Urban Decay Burnout

Hayride is part of a limited edition Fall 2012 duo from Contrary Polish. It is a tan creme with bronze, gold, and brown shimmer and micro-glitter. Very easy application with two coats. For some reason it pulled much darker on me, in reality it's a shade lighter than shown.

I have had Urban Decay Burnout sitting untried for a LONG time now (I know, it pains me too) and after wearing Hayride, I realized that it could be used as the perfect base for Burnout. No more words, just enjoy this chameleon of a polish:

I wish I could say that Urban Decay Burnout is still easily available but it's not. It pops on blog-sales and eBay, so keep a lookout for it.

Contrary Polish Hayride will be available soon on Llarowe and updates for Contrary Polish can be found on Carrie's blog.

Contrary Polish Desert Fruit

For those that are indie glitter polish shy, Contrary Polish is an indie brand alternative, as almost all of her polishes are shimmer cremes. And for those like me who do love indie glitter polish, Contrary Polish is still most definitely a brand worth exploring. Desert Fruit is a rich red toned plum purple with a red shimmer. The photos show two coats of application.

Contrary Polish Desert Fruit can be found at Llarowe and updates can be found at Contrary Polish's blog

CrowsToes Voodoo and The Thing

I held out for this polish for a while, I have no idea why, purple and orange color combination is a favorite of mine. I am glad that I did end up purchasing Voodoo, it's a beautiful glitter polish, filled with orange hex, bar and micro-glitter and along with purple hex, square and micro-glitter  I layered Voodoo over American Apparel Violet Panache and in the second photo, I applied a layer of matte topcoat. The Thing is a multicolor glitter with the primary color being gold. I applied that over black polish to bring out all the colors.

Smitten Polish Hocus Pocus

Hocus Pocus is a part of Smitten Polish's Halloween/Fall 2012 collection. It's a purple jelly with with fuchsia holographic glitter. Very pigmented, I was able to do two coats for full coverage. Such a pretty polish and the name fits it well. A bit on the thick side but otherwise easy application.

Smitten Polish can be found on Etsy and Llarowe.

Elevation Polish Toubkal

I have one last polish from Elevation Polish's upcoming Moroccan collection to show. Toubkal is a rich burgundy jelly with gold flakies and microglitter. Another polish with really superior formula, though this one has a jelly finish, I was able to use just two coats for coverage and even in a low light, that shimmer is visible.

Now that I've posted the entire Moroccan collection, I can say without a doubt, this is the best collection Elevation Polish has released. Not that there has not been great Elevation Polishes released in the past but as a whole, the Moroccan collection stands out. The colors are unique and come well together cohesively and the formula for these polishes is fantastic all around. Out of the four polish collection, I think Jbel Ayachi is probably my favorite.

Toubkal, along with the other Elevation Polish Moroccan collection will be available in November. Details on the sale can be found on Lulu's blog: I Dig Brown Nail Polish

OPI Goldeneye

Goldeneye is third polish that I have to share from the newly released OPI James Bond 007 Skyfall collection. It's a very warm gold micro-flake polish, just shy of being brassy. It is sheer, I used 4 coats here to get full coverage. Another beautiful polish from OPI that very much fits into a holiday collection.

Goldeneye can be found online at various etailers, and in stores at Ulta, JCP Salons, and wherever else OPI is sold.

OPI Tomorrow Never Dies

Tomorrow Never Dies is another polish from the newly released OPI James Bond 007 Skyfall collection. Is it blue? Is it purple? It can't make a choice so I will say blurple. Very much a polish that almost glows from within. Easy application with two coats.

Tomorrow Never Dies can be found online at various etailers, and in stores at Ulta, JCP Salons, and wherever else OPI is sold.

The Hungry Asian Ida Rose

Some time ago, I had asked Kae, the producer of The Hungry Asian, if she would create a polish for me. The result is this beautiful, juicy looking orange with small purple and blue glitter. I love, no, adore this polish! The formula is fantastic and the way the purple and blue glitter pop within the bright orange creme is exactly what I had in mind. I used three coats for full coverage. A big thank you to Kae for all the effort she put into making this polish!

The Hungry Asian Ida Rose is not in stock at the moment in her Etsy store but check her Facebook page for restock info and updates.

Elevation Polish M’Goun

Today I have the third polish in Elevation Polish's Moroccan collection. M'Goun has a clear base with tiny gold, copper and dark brown glitter. It is basically the sister polish to Jbel Ayachi in the glitter size and ability to get full coverage in two coats. No base color was needed. If Jbel Ayachi reminds me of a winter wonderland, M'Goun reminds me a fall harvet gold.

M'Goun, along with the other Elevation Polish Moroccan collection will be available in November. Details on the sale can be found on Lulu's blog: I Dig Brown Nail Polish. I have one more from the Moroccan collection to post, so stay tuned for that.

Nail Pattern Boldness Texas Tea

Nail Pattern Boldness was recently launched in Llarowe's shop and included was Texas Tea, a Llarowe exclusive. It's been a while since I purchased a polish without looking at least a few online swatches but as soon as I saw Texas Tea, I made an impulse buy. No regrets whatsoever. Texas Tea has a smoky base and tons of black, holo and iridescent blue microglitter. I applied two coats over a black base to bring out the blue iridescence, though Texas Tea could be built to full coverage with three coats.

Nail Pattern Boldness Texas Tea can be purchased here on Llarowe's webshop

Elevation Polish Jbel Ayachi

I have another of Elevation Polish's upcoming Moroccan collection to show today. Jbel Ayachi is beautiful silver and mint glitter polish in a clear base. This shouts Winter Wonderland to me, perfect for the upcoming holidays. The bottle is packed, PACKED with small glitter particles, enough that I was able to do use two coats and achieve full coverage. I did not use a base color either. It reminds me of OPI's Burlesque glitters and Alice in Wonderland glitters, in that I can get that full coverage of such tiny glitter in just a couple of coats without having to a base color.

In other news from Elevation Polish, Lulu is having a charity auction to raise funds for Chrestomathy, Inc, a day training and habilitation service for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Buy It Now portion has ended but there are many LE colors and sets, along with the currently unreleased Moroccan collection to bid on. The auction will be ending tomorrow, so there is still time to submit bids. Details can be found on Lulu's blog: I Dig Brown Nail Polish. I will be posting the remaining two polishes in the Moroccan collection soon.

OPI The Spy Who Loved Me

The Spy Who Loved Me is from the newly released OPI James Bond 007 Skyfall collection. It's a beautiful bright red with gold shimmer. I cannot say this enthusiastically enough, I love this polish! Very appropriate for a holiday collection as well. Application was easy with two coats.

OPI The Spy Who Loved Me can be found online at various etailers, and in stores at Ulta, JCP Salons, and wherever else OPI is sold.

Elevation Polish Colline du Charf

Lulu from Elevation Polish was nice enough to provide me with her upcoming Moroccan collection to swatch and post. It is a four polish collection and will go on sale in November. Today I have Colline du Charf to show. Absolutely wonderful formula, very glossy and easy to apply. I used three coats in the photos below but two would have worked just as well. It's hard to describe this color accurately. A dusky pink/purple is what comes to my mind. I am not always immediately drawn to this type of color but I really love this modern neutral.

Misa Life Without Knowing and Frozen in Time

Here are two more from the Misa Wanderlust collection. Life Without Knowing is an dusky taupe with pink/gold shimmer. Honestly, I wanted something more from this color, though I can't say exactly what. It does serve as a perfect base for a very special polish which I will show here soon.

Frozen in Time is a lavender purple with pink shimmer. I took the photos in full sunlight so you can see that beautiful shimmer.

The Polish Bar Jasmine and The Place Between

I have a couple of polishes from The Polish Bar to show today. The first one is Jasmine, a shimmery green with purple/blue and jewel green square glitter and silver hexes. The first picture is two coats and top coat and in the second picture, I applied matte coating.

The Place Between is an unusual color combination. It has a charcoal colored base with blue micro-glitter, chartreuse square glitter and silver hexes. I used three coats for full coverage.

Jasmine and The Place Between can be purchased at The Polish Bar's Etsy shop

Hare Bisbee

Bisbee was one of my first indie polish purchases last summer. I can say with certainty that it is the polish that sparked my love affair with indie polishes. It is a relatively simple teal jelly with gold hex glitter but that color combination is just as unique today as it was when it was first released last year. I used three coats in the picture below.

For a while, Bisbee has been unavailable for purchase but Nikole, the mastermind behind Hare polish, has recently made it available again. It can be purchased on Llarowe's website. I don't think it is in stock at the moment but check Llarowe's Facebook page for updates.

Layla Hologram Effect Misty Blush

Layla holographic polishes have a lot of praise but it's with good reason. Though they do require a aqua-base to start off with, they apply very easily and their holo flame is so dramatic. Misty Blush is a color that is uncommon with holographic polishes, that alone makes it worth buying. Okay, no more raving, on to the pics...

Layla Misty Blush can be purchased online through Amazon, Ninja Polish, and Aveyou. I'm sure they will pop up in stores at Ulta but I don't know when.
