Hi everyone! I have two polishes from Illyrian Polish, her Winter Duo, which is a newer exclusive duo available right now, only in the Color4Nails' shop, who does ship worldwide. 

Illyrian Polish Winter Morning

Three coats

Sheer indigo blue base with green/blue & teal iridescent glitter, white flakes, tiny bits of holo and a blue to pink shifting shimmer
Tthe shimmer and iridescence in this is so. very. pretty. Because of that sheerish base color, you will likely need to apply three to four coats. I was okay with three, though there is a little visible nail line still, it's subtle and to me, added to the ethereal and dreamy effect of the polish.

Illyrian Polish Winter Twilight

Three coats

Dark grape purple base with copper holo glitter, red/green iridescent glitter, purple/pink flakes and tiny purple flecks 

Absolutely gorgeous. I love how deeply purple the color is and how the copper and red/green glitter pop is in contrast. Three coats worked again here for coverage and a healthy layer or two of topcoat to smooth out the glitter bits.

Color4Nails Halo Chrome Powder Pigment: Swatches and Review

Hi everyone! I have a newer product from Color4Nails to share today, not a polish exactly but their Halo Chrome Powder Pigment. There are a few different versions of this powder floating around and I had the chance to try out Color4Nails' offering. 

This was actually my first time using this type of product and while it does require a bit more effort than regular polish, I think the final effect is really awesome and worth the patience. If you haven't yet seen what this product actually does, it's a holographic powder pigment that you apply over a gel polish base, leaving you with a super high density holo finish. There is a bit of a learning curve with this type of powder, I referenced the instructions listed on the site but I am going give you a break down of what I did:

1) Applied a gel base coat and cured under my LED lamp (15 seconds)

2) Applied a gel color polish (Pink Gellac Chocolate Brown) and cured it under my LED lamp (60 seconds)

3) Applied a non-wipe gel topcoat and cured for 10 seconds (NOT the full 60 seconds that it regularly needs). This is important. If you do cure the non-wipe topcoat full, the powder will not adhere. 

4) As soon as I took my hand out of the lamp, using a eye-shadow sponge applicator, dabbed the powder all over the nail. You will want to work quickly and cover the nail in minimal strokes. Since the surface still has a tackiness, the powder just sinks in the polish. You can brush off any excess powder from your cuticle line. 

5) Applied another layer of non-wipe gel topcoat and cured for the full 60 seconds under my LED lamp

Because you need to work quickly to apply the powder, I did one full hand cure of the base coat and polish color but when it came time to do the first layer of topcoat, I did each nail separately. 

The pigment itself is 15 micron which means that the particle is smaller (compared to the 35 micron and 50 micron holo pigments available elsewhere). And because this is a combo holo and chrome, the gray chrome color will be the dominant color, it may gray out the base color depending on what you have on. The powder comes in a come plastic container, for $10 you receive 2 grams of powder, which will yield a number of manicures. As for the holo density, let's get to the photos!

Cadillacquer Halloween 2016 Collection: Swatches and Review

Hi everyone! For today, I have polishes from Cadillacquer. This five polish set is her Halloween 2016 Collection, available now from Color4Nails' shop! 

Cadillacquer Bones

Three coats

Dark taupe with white, black and orange glitter plus silver/blue sheen

I love the contrast of white against the dark, almost gray, taupe color. The black and orange glitter pieces are tiny so they are not immediately visible but they add some extra detailing. This went on easily but I need three coats for opaque coverage. 

Cadillacquer Devil 

Two coats

Black jelly with orange and green glitter and scattered holographic pigment

I love this! It reminds me a bit of the It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, where Charlie Brown is waiting in the pumpkin patch at night. Slightly more opaque coverage here, I have this shown with two coats. 

Cadillacquer Ghost

Two coats

Pale blue tinted white base with holo and blue flake glitter

Simple but striking, with that pale pale blue/white base and the darker navy glitter. I was expecting to need minimum three coats but was happy to see that it got opaque in two. 

Cadillacquer Pumpkin

Two coats

Pumpkin orange holographic

Not a straight orange here, I see flashes of pink in the base, which make it look like a candied pumpkin shade to me, not the dusky orange you see from a regular pumpkin. That's just color semantics though, the color is gorgeous and it applies flawlessly. 

Cadillacquer Zombie 

Three coats

Green shimmer with holog and micro holo glitter

The name immediately had me singing in my head the Cranberries' Zombie. Well, if this is a zombie green, sign me up for the zombie life. It's shimmery and full of holo sparkle. Formula is very nice, as were all the polishes in this collection, and I used three coats for full opacity.

Color4Nails Pun with Pokémon Collaboration Collection: Swatches and Review

Hi everyone! For today I have a new collaboration collection from Color4Nails that will be releasing soon. For this six polish set, Color4Nails teamed up with six brands who each created a polish inspired by a Pokémon character, the six makers include Cadillacquer, Celestial Cosmetics, Delush Polish, Different Dimension, Ever After Polish, and Nine Zero Lacquer.

 I think the brands did a great job with the collection, you can totally see where the inspiration plays into the colors and the pun-tastic names are the cherry on top. Look for this set to be released Friday, October 7th in Color4Nails' shop. The polishes will be available as a set as well as individually, but I know for those Pokémon fans, gotta catch 'em all!

Cadillacquer Wishing Upon a Staryu

Three coats
Red jelly base with gold flakes and glitter
So bright and saturated, yum. Goes on well, not too thick or thin in formula though because of it's jelly base, I needed three coats for opacity. 

Celestial Cosmetics Judge, Jury, and Exeggcute-tioner

Two coats

Dusky light rose pink with silver shimmer and holographic pigment

A nicely done, lighter toned pink holo. It's a shimmer/pigment heavy polish, so slightly on the thicker side but application was easy with two thin coats. The holo effect is more a scattered density variety.  

Delush Polish Bad to the Cubone

Three coats

Black base with gold shimmer and off white and golden glitter

I love how this takes on an olive, or antiqued gold, look with the addition of that heavy gold shimmer. There are some circle glitter pieces that didn't end up on the nail though I do see them in the bottle, my recommendation is to let the bottle sit upside down for a few minutes before applying so you can get those on the nail. Otherwise, application was good, I used three thinner coats for opaque coverage.

Different Dimension Don't Be Tentacruel

Medium sky blue linear holographic
Application for this was so so easy, two coats with no clean up needed. Different Dimension is a brand that I can rely on to have a good consistent application for her holo polishes and this was no different. The color is very pretty and the holo is a medium density one. 

Ever After Polish Pikachu, I See You

Three coats

Dusky buttercup yellow linear holographic with pink/orange shimmer

With a Pokeman inspired set, there had to be a yellow! And this is a verry nice one. I love the added shimmer, it brightens up the dusky yellow shade. It's on the sheer side, this is three thin coats and I still had a bit of visible nail line. When I re-wear this again, I will likely add a ridge builder base coat. 

Nine Zero Happily Eevee After

Two coats

Copper linear holographic

Ohhhh yes. I love metallic looking holographic polishes and this is gorgeous! Nicely opaque with two coats and as I would expect of a metallic polish, there are some visible brushstrokes but they are not super obvious.
