Different Dimension Fun in the Sun Collection: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hello! I have some new polishes from Different Dimension for today. The Fun in the Sun Collection consists of six very summery polishes. Different Dimension has created some awesome summer sets in the past and I love this year's seasonal set too. Also releasing this week are some new cuticle oil scents:
  • Beat The Heat: a refreshing blend of muddled raspberries with lemon, sugar and vanilla.
  • On Beach Time: fresh, watery summer honeydew & sweet watermelon combined with crisp cucumber
  • Wipe Out: Sparkling mandarin with honeydew, fresh hibiscus & vanilla
  • Beach Bum: A tropical blend of sweet pineapple and luscious mango complimented with notes of lotus flower and warm vanilla
  • Catch A Wave: A classic tropical and citrus blend of pineapple, grapefruit and orange
The Fun in the Sun Collection will be released Friday July 1st at 9 pm EST in Different Dimension's shop
They will be $8.75 to $10 each, with the exception of Surf's Up which will be just $5 and you can purchase the full collection at a discounted $50 (plus shipping).

Different Dimension Surf’s Up
Three coats
White crelly with added shimmer plus neon pink, neon yellow and neon blue glitter
Specially priced at just $5!
I like the pop of neon in the stark white crelly base. It's on the thin side, so I applied three thin coats for coverage.

Different Dimension Starfish Wishes
Two coats
Neon pink with added holographic micro-glitter
Bright and a very pretty shade of pink. The formula for this was about the same for the next three polishes so I am going to do a cut and paste here: It was easy to apply, with just two coats needed for coverage. It does dry down with some texture so if you want a completely smooth finish, double up on your topcoat. Removal was a pain though, with those micro-glitter, so I would treat this the same way you would any glitter with a peel off base coat or soaking and then removing.

Different Dimension Mermaid Kisses
Two coats
Neon blue with added holographic micro-glitter
A bold blue to coordinate with Starfish Wishes.
Cut and paste application notes: It was easy to apply, with just two coats needed for coverage. It does dry down with some texture so if you want a completely smooth finish, double up on your topcoat. Removal was a pain though, with those micro-glitter, so I would treat this the same way you would any glitter with a peel off base coat or soaking and then removing.

Different Dimension Soak Up The Sun
Two coats
Neon chartreuse with added holographic micro-glitter
This was my favorite of the three colored base polishes. It's just so BRIGHT.

Different Dimension Hello From The Other Tide
Three coats
Silver holographic glitter with neon pink, neon yellow and neon blue glitter in a holographic base
I love to see holo silver with contrasting colors and this one is like the epitome of summer! It applies well, with three thin coats. With your first coat, you will think, this won't be opaque enough but by that third coat, you will see that all the blank spots are filled up. Same notes on removal as the previous glitter ones, so find that peel off base coat before you start applying.

Different Dimension Don’t Be A Shady Beach
Two coats
Magenta crelly with black and silver holographic glitter
This one may be my favorite of the full collection. I really love how the black pops in the oh so vivid magenta base color. Because it's so pigmented and it's more jelly like formula, I did have a concern about staining. I did not see any sort of tint or staining on my nail but I didn't have a chance to test for a long period of time. My recommendation is to wear a good base coat.

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Destination Trio (Partial): Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hey everyone! I have another review for today. These two polishes are part of Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer's Destination Trio, specifically Blue Eyed Girl Lacquer Moon Glow and Northern Star Polish Make a Wish. The third missing polish from my review is Darling Diva Polish Undomestic Diva, to see that polish, check out Polished Pathology's review!

If you have seen previous Blue Eyed Girl Destination collaborations, the polishes are created with a destination photo in mind. For this trio, the makers used this photo from Chicago below for inspiration (courtesy of Kristin from Northern Star):

The trio was released last month but you can still get the polishes in the set, each maker will be listing a set in their shop, and together the set is priced at $30 shipped within the US, with international shipping available, links below to each brand's shop.

 Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Moon Glow
Three coats
Bright yellow with rose, blue, and purple micro-flakes
Such a cheery yellow! Like a perfect egg yolk yellow. I love the shimmer that is added. It's a bit thin in color opacity so I applied three coats for coverage.

(With Matte Topcoat)

Northern Star Polish Make a Wish
Two coats
Stormy blue creme with turquoise micro-flakes and charcoal flecks
I definitely can see the evening dusk with the shimmer from the water fountain translated to this color. It was nice in formula consistency, though a bit watery. I applied two coats to get coverage.

Cupcake Polish Cheers to 3 Years!
Two coats
Bubblegum pink holographic with ultra fine silver flake shimmer
Because this is a Cupcake, it's so fitting that for her anniversary polish that it be pink, which Sara always does so well! I love those silver flakes, they add a metallic shimmer to the base but don't over shadow the color itself. The formula is about the same consistency that I have come to expect from Cupcake, a little on the thick side but not overly so and easy to apply, needing just two thin coats for coverage. The holo itself is a lower density one and is more an accent to the polish rather than the main feature.

This set of three are exclusives this month to the Hella Holo Customs Facebook group. To be able to purchase these polishes, you will need to be a member of the Hella Holo Customs group. If you are not already a member, you can join the group here.

Important! If you order the polishes, which are available now in Chaos & Crocodiles' shop (link to the sale page is in the HHC ordering post) until June 30th, and you are not a member of the HHC group, your order will be cancelled and refunded. And when you do order, you should totally include a llama pocket mirror or a narwhal necklace because.....cuteness is always a good excuse.

Chaos & Crocodiles Cosmic Crystal
Two coats
Dark blue purple linear holographic
This color. THIS COLOR. It's so very blurple. And applies perfectly. I don't think I needed to do any clean up before I took my photos, that's how flawlessly it applies. The holo is very high density holo flame.

Chaos & Crocodiles Narwhals Eat Macarons Too
Two coats
Light aqua linear holographic
Pretty as can be! It's light and fresh and I can see the macaron inspiration. It has a cream based holo formula so while it's a paler color, I did not need more than two coats for coverage. The holo flame is a low to medium one.

Chaos & Crocodiles Cheshire Rose
Two coats
Red to blue to purple multi-chrome linear holographic
YES. PERFECTION. If you can only buy one polish, this is the one to get. It's so shifty and rich and flat out gorgeous. Application was wonderful, two coats for coverage and that holo, damn, it's bold.

Color4Nails Daenerys’ Dragons Groups Exclusive Trio featuring Cupcake Polish, Different Dimension and Glisten & Glow: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hi everyone! I have a new trio of polishes that were created in collaboration with Color4Nails. The Daenerys’ Dragons Trio will consist of exclusive polishes from Cupcake Polish, Different Dimension, and Glisten & Glow. The brands drew inspiration from each of Daenerys' dragons (from Game of Thrones).

Promo1.jpg

You are probably wondering how you can get your hands on these polishes. They will be sold as a set, not individually and available only for members of the Color4Nails' C4N Nailistas Group. If you haven't joined the group, this is the time to do it, not just for the set either.

The trio will be available to purchase during a pre-order window, which will begin tonight! June 23rd at 7 pm PST until Sunday June 26th at 12 PM Midnight PST. For more info, like pricing and how to buy, make sure to join the fan group if you haven't already.

Cupcake Polish Drogon
Two coats
Black linear holographic with strong red shimmer
The shimmer gives the color a bit of a brown coloring which looks deep and dark and gorgeous. Application was a breeze, I applied two thin coats for coverage, and had entirely opaque coverage. The holo flame is a medium to high density one.

(LED lighting to show holo)

Different Dimension Viserion
Two coats
Antique white linear holographic with golden shimmer, gold flakes, & golden holographic galaxy glitter
A lighter shade with a bit more complexity and detailing. It was a bit thick but not unmanageable. Because it's a paler shade, the holo flame is bit less obvious but it's a low to medium one.

Glisten & Glow Rhaega
Three coats
Hunter green linear holographic with bronze undertones, gold and blue shimmer, and golden flakes
Love that gold shimmer in this, making it more special looking than a standard hunter green color. It's actually the kind of color that I would envision as a base for doing some sort of dragon nail art. This was thinner for formula so I applied three coats for get opacity and the holo flame was a medium high density.
