Once Upon a Polish Scuttle, Flounder, and Dragon Spit

Here is part two of my Once Upon a Polish polishes. Dragon Spit is my favorite of all the ones I purchased. Per Once Upon a Polish's Facebook page, she will have polish in stock until mid-Dec and then will close her shop, either temporarily or permanently. Dragon Spit is not in stock at the moment but if she does restock it, I would definitely recommend purchasing that one.

Once Upon a Polish Poison Apple, Arabian Nights, and Rapunzel

I have some Once Upon a Polish's line to show. I like the concept of her brand, using fairy tale inspirations for the colors and titles of the polishes. The polishes apply easily and though some may need layering like Poison Apple, the others just need two coats for coverage.

Lacquistry Leaf Piles Make Me Smile and Spiced Candy Apple Cider

Lacquistry polishes are always unique and complex and I am never quite able to give accurate descriptions for them. These two are from her Fall Y'all trio that I bought in late September. No layering needed, I used two coats with Leaf Piles Make Me Smile and three coats with Spice Candy Apple Cider.

These are not available any longer in Lacquistry's Etsy shop but she will be releasing her Winter/Holiday 2012 polishes soon.

Orly Go Deeper

Go Deeper is part of Orly's Flash Glam FX collection. It does have a tinted base but looks better layered. I applied two coats of Go Deeper over Kiko #335 Ink Blue and really like the complete look of them together.

Jade Diamond Scarlet and Joy

I do love my Jade Holographic polishes, so when I saw that Jade Diamond polishes were available to purchase, I couldn't resist getting Scarlet and Joy. These are described as duochrome polishes and like many duochromes, they look best layered over a dark color. For both Scarlet and Joy, I applied a layer of black nail polish and then two coats of each color. If they were not layered, the Diamond polishes being on the sheer side, would probably need at least 3 coats to get full coverage. Joy has more of a duochrome color shifting effect than Scarlet, but of the two, I prefer the color of Scarlet.

Joy is a coral polish, at some angles it looks orange, then yellow and then pink.

Scarlet is very much a ruby red duochrome with flashes of orange.

Jade Diamond polishes, including Joy and Scarlet, can be purchased at Llarowe and Ninja Polish.

Hare Polish Cast in Bronze and Atolla

Not a lot to say today, just some awesome Hare Polishes to show: Cast in Bronze and Atolla. I ordered the majority of Hare's Fall 2012 collections and these two are my favorite out of them.

Smitten Polish Ermahgerd Candee Corms

Ermahgerd Candee Corms was what I wore on Halloween and it was perfect for that day. Lots of yellow and orange glitter in a milky base, this IS candy corn bottled. I used three coats for full coverage.

Illamasqua Optimist

I have slowly been adding Illamasqua polishes to my collection. Their formula is just fantastic overall and I really love their packaging. I received Optimist as a gift and the color is so pretty.

Optimist, as well as others from the Illamasqua Rubber collection are available and on sale at Sephora.

China Glaze Winter Holly and Glitter All the Way

Winter Holly and Glitter All the Way are part of China Glaze's Holiday 2012 Joy for Holiday collection. I used 3 coats for full coverage for both polishes. Winter Holiday is very gritty, I think I should have probably added another layer of topcoat to smooth it out but otherwise formula for both of these are great. Glitter All the Way is especially festive, it reminds me more of Mardi Gras than the Winter Holiday season, so I will have to remember to wear this again in in February.

I purchased my bottles at a local Sally's but I am sure they can be found wherever China Glaze is sold.

OPI Skyfall James Bond 007 collection swatches

I haven't had a chance to update this blog all week but better late then never. Here are the remaining OPI Skyfall James Bond polishes that I purchased. Overall great formula on these, The World is Not Enough and On Her Majesty's Secret Service require three coats while the others are fine with just two. Live and Let Die is my favorite of these four. And every time I say/type Live and Let Die, I start to hear Paul McCartney singing in my head. Such a great song, hands down my favorite Bond theme song.
