Introducing Monster Polish!: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hey guys! I am coming out of the void that is Thanksgiving weekend, slowly but surely. Today I have two new polishes from a new indie brand, Monster Polish. Monster Polish is the brainchild of Diana, who has been creating her polishes for a while now, mainly as gifts to friends. She will now be producing her pretty polishes and decals/vinyls for public purchase and I for one, am excited to see what she will have in store as she progresses.

For the initial launch of Monster Polish, Diana collaborated with Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer to create a 5 polish set inspired by the Doctors of Doctor Who. The two polishes I am sharing are by Monster Polish and the other three are from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer, you can view those on her Facebook page. You can purchase the set (as a pre-order) today in both Monster Polish's shop as well as via Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer's shop at 3:30 pm EST. If you go with the 5 polish collection, you will also receive 4 sets of 5 Monster Polish nail vinyls (Bananas, Bow Ties, 3D Glasses and Dinosaurs), or you can purchase polishes individually in each respective maker's shop.

Before I get the polish review, I just wanted to show off the all that was in my box. That little green monster is a magnet (that immediately went on my helmer next another brand's magnet) and the little monsters on that white hair tie, seriously cute!

I LOVE the logo and branding that Diana has come up with. It's playful and fun and catches your attention right away. I didn't get a chance to wear the decals, so here is a close-up of what they look like:

Monster Polish I Was Hoping For Minimalism But I Think I Came Out With Magician
Two coats
Deep blue jelly base with red and blue shimmer.
Inspired by the 12th Doctor and his signature outfit.
Very much a Doctor Who blue and the shimmer is gorgeous. A little on the thick side formula wise but otherwise easy application.

Monster Polish What's Wrong With this Jumper?
Two coats
Charcoal satin finish with purple shimmer and added holographic pigment.
Inspired by 9th Doctor and his signature leather look.
This is one of those polishes that is so much better in person, my photos do not do it justice. That shimmer man, it is killer! No issue with application either. It will dry to a satin finish but a layer of topcoat will fix that if you prefer to have it shine.

(Direct Sunlight)

These will be available today at 3:30 pm EST in Monster Polish's shop, individually or as a set
(along with three Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquers).

Crows Toes 2014 Winter Trio: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hello again! Double post for today, this time I have Crows Toes Winter 2014 Trio. I am very happy to see these glitter bomb polishes from her, as I think Crows Toes puts out some of the best indie glitter polishes. The formula for these is oh so smooth, they apply very easily and I used just one heavy coat for full coverage over a base color. You will likely need to apply at least two coats of topcoat (or my method, which is a coat of Gelous and then heavy coat of topcoat) to get a glass smooth finish.

These will be released very soon in all of Crows Toes distributors shops, I know that they will be available through Llarowe shortly, so follow that shop's Facebook page to see specific dates and times. There are two seasonal re-promotes this year, Jingle Balls and Merry Kiss-Me-A@#, that are Llarowe exclusives, I will have a post of those two in a few days.

Crows Toes Walk the Peacock
Layered over American Apparel Night Sky
Clear base with aqua, teal, green, magenta, and blue glitter.
Well we do parade around like peacocks in our holiday finery, so it's about time we have a polish that we can wear when we do that! Great contrast of colors and most definitely a polish that shows off it's peacock feathers inspiration.

Crows Toes Her Goose Got Iced
Layered over American Apparel Night Sky
Clear base with silver, gunmetal, and ice blue metallic glitter.
One of my very favorite Crows Toes polishes is Her Goose Got Cooked so I was very happy to see that a cool toned version had been created. Oh so cool *wink*

Crows Toes Mad Money
Layered over American Apparel Hassid
Clear base with holo silver glitter.
Such a simple description for such a bold polish. If you like Maxxed Out, then you will love this, it's the silver counterpart to that one. Perfect for all your holiday parties!

Cupcake Polish Just Sleighing Around
Two coats
Cherry red linear holographic
So. dang. RED. Instant love.

(Direct Sunlight)

Cupcake Polish Deck The Malls
Two coats
Green holo micro-glitter with dark green specks.
Very opaque, I barely need the two coats I applied. This will dry gritty but I applied a coat of Gelous before my standard topcoat and you will get a smooth finish.

(Direct Sunlight)

Cupcake Polish Look Who's Stocking Now
Two coats
Light teal linear holographic with teal and gold shimmer
Gorgeous color, I like that this is almost an ocean teal blue shade.

(Direct Sunlight)

Cupcake Polish Menorah-ty Opinion
Two coats
Cobalt blue linear holographic with blue and gold micro-glitter and gold flake shimmer.
I love puns so I gotta say that the names in this collection kill me but I especially love Menorah-ty Opinion lololol.

(Direct Sunlight)

Cupcake Polish Ornamentary My Dear
Three coats
Silver linear holographic with gold flakes and shimmer.
This flake holo can be layered over another color with one coat but I prefer to wear it by itself in multiple coats. I feel like you get the most visual impact that way.

(Direct Sunlight)

Cupcake Polish Yule Be Missing Me
Two coats
Royal purple linear hologrpahic
This purple is the most holographic of the collection, one of those see-it-to-believe it colors. And it doesn't matter how many purple holos are out there, you NEED this one.

Darling Diva Polish Ladies of a Certain Age Collection

Provided for Review
Hey guys! I have a new collection from Darling Diva Polish to share today. This the Ladies of a Certain Age collection, with names that, well, are inspired by a certain word and the many ways we can express ourselves with that word. I personally love that word and have been known to use it with enthusiam, especially while driving. Or tipsy. But I will keep this blog curse-word free and let you use your imagination. The six polishes in this collection are all lighter colored linear holos packed with metallic gold and silver flakes. And they sparkle like crazy in the sun. Sparkle galore, the pics below are proof! Formula wise, they are a bit more thin but very buildable, I applied three coats for each polish shown.

The Ladies of a Certain Age Collection will be available on November 29th in Darling Diva Polish's shop. Make sure to follow their media (links at the bottom) for more info and for Black Friday details.
