Great Lakes Lacquer Winter 2015 Doctor's Orders Collection: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hey everyone! I have a new collection from Great Lakes Lacquer to share with you today. These seven polishes make up her upcoming Doctor's Orders Collection, which is based on quotes from Dr. Seuss and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Both of these men are quite inspirational, each in a different way but ultimately both in a hopeful and uplifting manner. I am including the quotes that maker Mariah provided just before each polish's description.

The Winter 2015 Doctor's Orders Collection will be released this Friday, December 11th at 3 pm EST in Great Lakes Lacquer's shop

From Dr. Seuss and Horton Hears a Who. “Don’t give up! I believe in you all. A person’s a person, no matter how small!”

Great Lakes Lacquer Don’t Give Up
Two coats
Peachy pink warm nude creme/jelly with copper shimmer
This comes off as a nude on me and on others it may be more of a warm neutral. The shimmer is so gosh darn pretty in the base. It is thicker in formula so just a note to wait between coats when you apply.

From Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.”

Great Lakes Lacquer Infinite Hope
Two coats
Sapphire blue with blue to pink shimmer and neon purple micro flakes plus scattered holographic pigment
Oh yes, this is perfection. So bold and so BLUE and the holo is just right. Nice formula consistency and application as well.

From Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”

Great Lakes Lacquer Only Love Can Do That
Two coats
Whitened silver creme/jelly with silver and white shimmer and holographic pigment
Very subtle and perfect for this season. It has a crisp look to it and I like that the color is not quite silver and not quite white. The holo effect is lower density one, which is expected with it's pale coloring.

From Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”

Great Lakes Lacquer Silence
Two coats
Slate blue jelly with violet red to blue color-shifting shimmer and bronze flakes
This is very much a "winter" collection polish with it's dark and cool coloring. The shimmer and flakes add some complexity which I love. This has a thicker formula so a reminder to wait between coats to avoid dragging.

From Dr. Seuss. “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”

Great Lakes Lacquer Those Who Matter
Two coats
Cranberry red linear holographic with royal purple shimmer
I will never tire of this sort of color. Never! How can I when they look as pretty as this one does? Very nice application, it's very color opaque so you barely need that second coat. It has a medium density holo flame as well, Jenne of Polished Pathology has a great holo shot in her review.

From Dr. Suess and The Lorax. “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”

Great Lakes Lacquer Unless
Two coats
Dark emerald green with various gold shimmer plus scattered copper holographic micro-glitter
Were you looking for that perfect green polish to wear for during the holiday season? Then you will be especially delighted by this green beauty with the gold accents and easy application

From Dr. Seuss and Happy Birthday to You. “Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you.”

Great Lakes Lacquer Youer Than You
Two coats
Violet jelly base with mint and purple shimmer and aqua shifting to green flakes
This one was probably my favorite of it the collection. I luuuuuuurve the color, it's one of those awesome blue toned purple colors and with the complimenting flakes, this is sure to be a fan favorite. You will get a good amount of coverage in two coats, which is nice considering the jelly base.
