Great Lakes Lacquer The Great Ones Collection: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hello! I hope everyone had a good weekend. We are jumping right into the new week today with some new polishes from Great Lakes Lacquer. These five polishes are part of the Great Ones Collection, created to mark the one year anniversary for Great Lakes Lacquer, and inspired by the Great Lakes

I can't believe it has been a year now since Mariah debuted. I am very proud of my friend for all that she has accomplished and am excited to see what's in store for the future. This collection is a stunning set of polishes that show off Mariah's creativity and you can see the love she has for her surroundings. There will not be July limited edition polishes but the good news is that this collection is not a limited in release so if you can't get them this month, you can in the future.

The Great Ones Collection will be released Tuesday July 12th at 3 pm EST in Great Lakes Lacquer's shop

Great Lakes Lacquer Lake Erie
Two coats
Indigo purple with red/gold shifting shimmer, scattered holographic pigment, and navy micro-flakes
Make notes: Inspired by the deep blue to purple with a red tint that Lake Erie can give off, especially after sunset.
This looks just a bit more purple in person but it's also very blue leaning and just so saturated. The holo is a scattered effect which I think is a perfect touch. You can see the sparks of holo catch the light. Formula is so good, I applied two coats for coverage.

Great Lakes Lacquer Lake Huron
Two coats
Deep blue with a blacked green shimmer
Make notes: Inspired by the deep blue that throws back a green hue from the sunlight.
That shimmer is mmm mmm good in the blue. It's definitely my favorite of the collection. And with matte topcoat? YES. Fluid formula and easy application.

Great Lakes Lacquer Lake Michigan
Two coats
Deep teal linear holographic with blue to green multi-chrome flakes and shimmer
Make notes: Inspired by the light green to aqua to deep blues of one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.
Flakes in holo! You know you love it. The green is OMG, so gosh darn tasty looking. This had a nice opaque formula so two coats for coverage and the holo is a medium to high density.

Great Lakes Lacquer Lake Ontario
Three coats
Sapphire blue jelly with six different kinds of blue flakes
Make notes: Inspired by the sapphire blue and deep sparkle that the big lakes can give off when blazed with sunlight.
A dreamy and sparkling blue. This was a bit less opaque than the others, with it's jelly base, so three thin coats worked best for coverage.

(With Matte Topcoat)

Great Lakes Lacquer Lake Superior
Two coats
Deep green leaning teal with green to purple shifting multi-chrome shimmer.
Make notes: Inspired by the northern lights running across the lake at night.
Okay I lied, THIS polish is my favorite. The color shift from teal to green to purple is wonderful and you do lose that a bit when you apply matte topcoat but I LOVE how it looks matte. I applied two coats and had the coverage I needed, though you may need a third coat.
