Lollipop Posse Lacquer Summer of '96 Collection: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hi guys! I don't know about you all but I am so ready for the weekend so let's finish up the week with some new upcoming polishes from Lollipop Posse Lacquer. These seven polishes are part of her Summer of '96 Collection, inspired by the music from the summer of 1996.

Oh my goodness, I can't believe it has been 20 years. I was a little punk adolescent pre-teen in 1996, just starting to explore music on my own, so the inspiration for this collection really hit me with a burst of nostalgia. I am including YouTube links to each song so you can really get a feel for the inspiration.

The Summer of '96 Collection will be releasing next Friday, July 22nd in Lollipop Posse Lacquer's shop

The prices will range from $9.50 to $12 each and you can also purchase the full seven polish set for a slightly discounted $72 with free domestic shipping/discounted international shipping.

Also! With the release of this collection, Lollipop Posse will also be introducing new shipping charges. Starting on July 22nd, all orders over $75 will qualify for free shipping with the code FREESHIP75.

Lollipop Posse Lacquer Cool Kids Never Have The Time
Two coats
Turquoise with blue-gold shifting shimmer and linear holographic pigment
Inspired bySmashing Pumpkins' "1979"
This is green leaning lagoon turquoise color which I really like and the holo in it is a higher density holo flame. Application is easy, two coats for coverage.

Lollipop Posse Lacquer I Felt You Like Electric Light
Two coats
Duochrome linear holographic with cyan/blue/purple color-shifting shimmer & holographic micro flakes.
Inspired by: Bush's "Machinehead"
I don't know how Karen pulled this off but this is such a beauty. It has that shifting goodness and is still quite a high density holo and then you add those holo micro-flakes and it's *almost* too much. I did two coats for coverage but you may need a third if you apply thinner coats.

Lollipop Posse Lacquer Love Is A Hell You Cannot Bear
Two coats
Magenta crelly with violet/blue color-shifting shimmer and micro-flakes
That shimmer is insane in the base and it 100% freaked out my camera. I like it even more with matte topcoat. I applied two coats and still had a bit of visible nail but I didn't feel the need to add a third coat, though if that bothers you, you may want to.

Lollipop Posse Lacquer Prism Perfect
Two coats
Black crelly with purple & sapphire holographic micro-glitter plus silver holographic pigment
Black holo polishes can be hit or miss for me. Many times they don't look black but charcoal or brown, mostly because of the added holographic pigment. I love how this one looks, it's very much a black polish with blue flashes from the glitter and just enough holo pigment to give it even more sparkle but not too much to gray the color. Applies easily but I do recommend a peel off base for removal and double up on your topcoat as it will dry down to some texture.

Lollipop Posse Lacquer The Devil In Me
Two coats
Purple duo-chrome shimmer that shifts between purple, blue, and copper
The shift is somewhat subtle but in the bottle I caught some flashes of copper and on the nail the purple is the dominant color. It applies well, two coats for coverage.

Lollipop Posse Lacquer The Get-Fresh Flow
Two coats
Blue-green duo-chrome shimmer that shifts between green, blue, violet, and pink/red
Inspired byBeck's "Where It's At"
Blue lovers, where you at? This one is for you. The color shift is more apparent in person but it is very much a "glows from within" type of polish. I know, such a trope description but when it fits, it fits!

(With Matte Topcoat)

Lollipop Posse Lacquer Love The One You Got
Two coats
Bright pink creme with violet/blue flash
Inspired bySublime's "What I Got"
What an vibrantly pink polish! This is most definitely my favorite polish of the collection, especially with that prominent blue flash. It's was a bit thick in formula but if you apply two thin coats, you won't have an issue.
