Great Lakes Lacquer August 2016 LE's: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hi everyone! For today I have a few new polishes from Great Lakes Lacquer. These three are the monthly limited edition offerings for the month of August and are available right now in Great Lakes Lacquer's shop until September 2nd!

Great Lakes Lacquer I Left My Heart At Houghton
Two coats
Blue toned periwinkle crelly with blue shimmer and holographic micro-flakes
Maker note: I grew up spending my summers and Christmas vacation up at Houghton Lake.  It's where I learned to swim and fish. It's also the place where I felt most at home.
Those holo flakes have become a favorite of mine as I see them more in polishes and they are just perfection in this base color. The formula is a thinner style formula so the flakes can peek through more clearly but I still had enough coverage in two coats.

Great Lakes Lacquer Shells and Sand
Two coats
Rose toned coral with pink and peach flake shimmer and golden holographic pigment
Maker notes: A throw to the days of my youth playing in the sand, when every shell I found was special.
The two blues were lovely but this is the polish this month that I liked the most. Its beautiful rosy color is understated but still vibrant. It is the most opaque of the three, you may be able to get away with one coat but I still like to do two for coverage, which is how I have it shown as.

Great Lakes Lacquer The Water of Torch Lake
Two coats
Light aqua with blue/green  plus blue/ pink color-shifting shimmer
Maker notesKnown as the 2nd most beautiful inland lake in the world, we visited Torch last August with it's purple haze at sunset.  This year, I thought we could focus on the water.  And what beautiful water it is.  If you ever get the chance, you have to visit.  Not only is it beautiful, but the area around it is as well.
Though the aqua color itself is wonderful, it is the shimmer that takes this polish over the top! I should have matted it but I didn't think to do so when I swatched it. It's thicker in formula compared to the other two but not problematic at all, just apply thinner coats.
