Scofflaw Nail Varnish Winter 2017 Collection: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hi everyone! I was laid low for a few days, dealing with that standard winter sickness that we all try to avoid, but I am on the mend now and have a bunch of reviews lined up to share with you all. First up is Scofflaw Nail Varnish's Winter 2017 Collection

Formula Notes:
Even though some of the polishes in this collection have glitter, and some are straight shimmers, pretty much across the board, they each applied about the same, with a similar creme/crelly base formula. I had opaque coverage with two coats for each polish, yes, even the lighter shimmer ones. I didn't apply super thin coats, so if you tend to apply that way, you may find that you need three coats on a few. The formula itself, for all the polishes, was really easy to work with, they self -level well and don't flood my cuticles. Overall great experience swatching these.

The collection itself doesn't have a theme, instead each polish has its own inspiration, usually something you can tell from the name. If you follow previous Scofflaw collections, you will totally appreciate seeing how she creates such unique colors and combinations and of course, the cherry on top that is the polish bottom labels (always amusing).

The Winter 2017 Collection which will be released on Friday February 24th at 7 pm CST in Scofflaw's shop.

Scofflaw Nail Varnish Alien Mushrooms
Two coats
Slate grey with glitters in coral, peach, grey, and periwinkle plus a light blue shimmer
This first one is a great example of that Scofflaw magic. Unexpected color combo in dark grey base and it all just works.

Scofflaw Nail Varnish Be Constructive With Your Blues
Two coats
Sky blue with glitters in sand and aquamarine, as well as strong blue shimmer highlights
Oh my, such a pretty blue.

Scofflaw Nail Varnish Consenting Adults
Two coats
Dusty pale pink with gold flakes, sparks, and small glitters
Love that gold sparkle against the pale pink. The label for this is especially fun (BUTTS).

Scofflaw Nail Varnish Fake Plastic Trees
Two coats
Off white crelly with brown, copper, and green glitter plus brown and green shifting sparkle shimmer
A nod to Radiohead

Scofflaw Nail Varnish Love Letter to Princess Leia
Two coats
Purple tinted oxblood with holo glitter in lavender, black, and plum plus scattered holo pigment
All the feels with this one. Such a gorgeous color and immediately reminded me of General Organa's costuming from The Force Awakens.

Scofflaw Nail Varnish Moonage Daydream
Two coats
Concrete grey with purple and red shimmer plus red, violet, purple, and turquoise glitter
A nod to Bowie.

Scofflaw Nail Varnish Nessie Hunting
Two coats
Forest green crelly with shifting shimmer and flakes in blue and purple
Beautiful pink shimmer flecks in the dreamy green.

Scofflaw Nail Varnish Romy & Michele
Two coats
Mint green with strong pink shimmer highlights and holo pigment
Mint and pink is one of my faaaavorite color combinations and this one is pure awesome.

Scofflaw Nail Varnish That Dolphin is a Jerk
Two coats
Light grey crelly with glitters and shimmer in copper and aqua
Not sure what behavior would make a dolphin a jerk but I can only imagine. The polish though is an understated neutral with the copper and aqua adding a nice color twist.

Scofflaw Nail Varnish What Would Buffy Do?
Two coats
Coral creme with a golden-green shimmer
This polish was my favorite of the collection, which was a surprise, normally corals don't agree with me. The name though, and the inspiration, the shimmer, the color, all of it just made me happy.
