Fair Maiden Polish Winter at Dusk Winter 2015 Collection: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hello! I have a new collection from Fair Maiden Polish to share with you today. These six polishes make up the Winter at Dusk Collection. Here is a little bit of insight from makers Adrienne & Sarah:

"With the bold shades of the cold season running rampant in the community, we were inspired by the softer shades of winter. We drew our inspiration from the tranquility of a winter sunset. The colors and beauty to be seen in a winter sunset are like none other, under-appreciated by those of us who like to remain huddled in doors."

The Winter at Dusk Collection will launch Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26th at 9 pm CST in Fair Maiden Polish's shop

Also, a few promotions! From Thursday, November 26th through Monday November 30th, you will receive 25% off your entire purchase, no code necessary. AND if you purchase the full Winter at Dusk six polish set, you will receive a free bottle of their limited edition Holiday 2015 polish.

My thoughts: I really loved the inspiration behind the collection and the very cool, icy, ethereal look of the polishes. As a set, they look amazing together and individually, they are very unique. Formula was not an issue, some may require a bit more care with application but that's my only critique. Okay enough chatter, let's get to the photos!

Fair Maiden Polish Afterglow
Two coats
Light lavender with pink shifting micro flakes and holographic pigment
This is probably my favorite of the set. It's just so gosh darn pretty. The pink warms up the light lavender base. Two coats for coverage, which was a nice surprise, I was expecting to have to do a third.

Fair Maiden Polish Fire Frost
Three coats
Light champagne with violet to orange sheen, red/orange micro-flake shimmer plus subtle scattered holographic pigment
Such an interesting color. It will look a bit darker in indoor lighting but in natural daylight, you can see the shimmer easily and it brightens the light champagne color. This was the only one that I felt like I needed to apply a third coat.

Fair Maiden Polish Ice Petals
Two coats
Light blush pink with green sparkle, blue-violet-red color shifting iridescent micro flakes plus silver flake shimmer.
Another pale beauty. The silver against the blush pink is ugh, so wonderful. It had a few more visible brushstrokes than I preferred but looking at my photos now, I dare say that it adds to the icy appeal? Maybe?

Fair Maiden Polish Snow Jewel
Two coats
Royal purple with red-violet shimmer and lavender & gold micro flakes
What a majestic looking purple. The shimmer is subtle, adding just enough to give the polish some complex detailing. It's a tad thick, so wait a few minutes between that first and second coat as well as before you topcoat to avoid smearing.

Fair Maiden Polish Starry Night
Two coats
Midnight navy blue linear holographic with gold micro-flakes
We went from those lightly colored polishes to this deep dark night sky blue. The gold is oh so delicious against the navy. Really great formula and application for this one, needing no more than two coats. The holo flame is a medium to high density one.

Fair Maiden Polish Winter Moon
Two coats
Medium gray with blue and green shimmer and holographic pigment
Those gloomy winter early mornings are what come to mind with this one. But this is worth getting out bed for. It has a jelly/creme consistency to the formula as well, so depending on how thin you apply your coats, you may get away with two coats (like I did) or want to apply a third.

DON'T FORGET: From Thursday, November 26th through Monday November 30th, you will receive 25% off your entire purchase, no code necessary. AND if you purchase the full Winter at Dusk six polish set, you will receive a free bottle of their limited edition Holiday 2015 polish.
