The Holo Hookup June 2016 Box: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hey guys! I have June 2016's Holo Hookup Box to share with you today. Along with polishes from Cupcake Polish, Different Dimension, and Glisten & Glow, the guest maker for this month is F.U.N. Lacquer. Theme is Decades of Comedies, and each brand chose a comedy from the past four decades.

The movie inspiration picks the brands went with were a lot of fun and favorites of my own as well.  I love to add GIFs if I can but I didn't have a chance to look for them this time. You should totally check out Kellie Gonzo's post! Her photos are always on point and she added fun GIFs in her review. Here is the inspiration photo I was provided:

The June 2016 Holo Hookup Box will be available during a week long pre-order window from May 21st at 9 pm EST and the sale will conclude on May 28th at 9 pm EST only in the Holo Hookup shop.

The box is $40 plus shipping which will be available domestically and internationally.

Cupcake Polish Shake & Bake
Two coats
Royal blue linear holographic with silver flakes
Inspired by: Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006 release)
Shake and bake baby! I could quote Ricky Bobby all. day. long. I love this blue holo inspired result. It's such a bold and rich blue and the flakes add an extra special somethin somethin. Two coats for coverage and that is all I needed.

Different Dimension As If!
Two coats
Light pink linear holographic with added shimmer and micro-glitter
Inspired by: Clueless (1995 release)
You will feel like the Beverly Hills princess that this was inspired by (the one and only Cher Horowitz). I always envied her wardrobe, and that she ended up with the dreamy Paul Rudd. I like the mirrored metallic quality that the polish has. Two coats for coverage.

Glisten & Glow Bueller... Bueller... Bueller...
Three coats
Gilded light brown linear holographic with gold shimmer and flakes
Inspired by: Ferris Bueller's Day Off  (1986 release)
An unexpected color but it totally makes sense with the inspiration. It reminds me very much of Ferris' leopard print vest he wore throughout the movie, which is another highly quotable film for me. This is a thinner style polish so I applied three coats for coverage.

F.U.N. Lacquer Superhero Landing
Two coats
Black linear holographic with red/copper shimmer and red holo glitter
Inspired by: Deadpool (2016 release)
A really stunning polish, especially with the added red holo glitter and shimmer. It has a black base but with all that extra shimmer and glitter, it takes on a brown overcast. I applied one coat and it wasn't very opaque but by the second coat, I had enough coverage. You may need a third coat if you apply thinly.
