Polish My Life Girls & Boys Collection Los Angeles Edition: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hey guys! I have a new set of polishes from Polish My Life for today. This new trio is part of the Girls & Boys Collection series. You may remember the previous trio was inspired by Miami, this new set is inspired by the city of Los Angeles. The result is three seriously bright neon shades.

The Los Angeles Edition of the Girls & Boys Collection will be released Saturday, May 14th at 12 pm (Noon) EST in Polish My Life's shop.

Side Note! You may notice that I am adding a new font for my watermark. You may see the older one while I am phasing it out but new swatches will have the one shown below.

Polish My Life Dogtown
Three coats
Neon yellow crelly with silvered white and yellow shimmer
Yes please! While yellow is a color that is harder to wear for some people and their coloring, I feel like the vividness of neon yellow would actually be quite complimentary. I love how bright and highlighter yellow this is and the silvery shimmer adds some complexity. It was easy to apply but I did need three coats for opacity.

Polish My Life Hollywood Secret
Two coats
Neon pink crelly with white and iridescent blue shimmer
A cooler toned neon pink which definitely suits my taste and the blue sparks from the shimmer are great. This was more opaque than the yellow so I applied two coats for coverage. If you apply thin coats, you may need to do a third coat.

Polish My Life Surfers & Skaters
Two coats
Cobalt blue crelly with blue shimmer and dark blue micro-flecks
My oh my, what a bold blue. The darker flecks give it a bit of extra visual interest and though they dry to a bit of a texture, topcoat will give it a smooth finish.

I know that there have been discussions lately of flakes that react negatively and I did ask Shaneka about this polish. She assured me that these flakes are fine and that this look is what she had envisioned. She also mentioned that she worked to formulate this without staining. Cobalt blue polishes can be notorious for staining so that was good to hear! Of course, nothing is 100% guaranteed, including staining, so I just recommend applying a good ridge builder base-coat.

Nails Art!
I did a stone marble look using the three colors from the set over a white base. I can never seem to pull off a water-marble without some bubbling but I still love how it turned out. The colors are much brighter in person, I am wearing the matte look today and it's so eye-catching, I just wish it had translated better in my pics.
