Illyrian Polish B-Day Collection and Soft Shock: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Purchased by Me
Hi guys! I have a collection from Illyrian Polish to share with you today. I purchased the final polish that you will see in this post, Soft Shock, which is the monthly limited edition for April, and Vanessa was nice enough to include the polishes from her B-Day Collection!

The inspiration for this collection comes from songs of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I love LOVE that band, really anything that the front-woman Karen O does I am going to listen to. Vanessa did that magic she does so well and created this four piece set of complex and interesting polishes that really take on the inspiration material.

This collection had a limited run in April but it will return for a small restock on May 13th in Illyrian Polish's shop, follow her Instagram for the most up-to-date release information.

Illyrian Polish Gold Lion
Two coats
Dark gray creme base with copper metallic glitter
That shimmer is so intense. It gives the dark gray creme a very warm overtone. This applies well in two coats for coverage.

Illyrian Polish Heads Will Roll
Three coats
Gray jelly holo with orange/pink/purple color-shift flakes plus silver holographic glitter and flakes
Beautiful! With those flakes, the color has a slight purple tint. Since it is a jelly holo, I needed three thin coats for coverage.

Illyrian Polish Skeletons
Two coats
Light dove gray creme
A cool toned gray is a gray I can wear often and I like the blanched bone coloring. That comes off as a weird statement I know but the name of the polish is Skeletons so not totally inappropriate. It is opaque enough that I had coverage in two coats.

Illyrian Polish Zero
Three coats
Medium purple holographic with blue and pink iridescent flakes and a slight orange shimmer
So richly purple, the first thought that popped into my head was majestic. Like Heads Will Roll, with it's jelly holo formula, I did three thinner style coats for coverage.

Illyrian Polish Soft Shock
Two coats
 April LE
Light blue leaning lavender crelly with orange/pink/copper shifting shimmer
Ooomph, this is so freaking gorgeous. I kept it on for days after I applied it. The shimmer is just outstanding in that particular colored base. Two coats for coverage, you maaaay need a third but it would just depend on how thin your coats were. Though this was a limited edition for April, it looks like it will be returning for a limited restock in May as well.
