Turtle Tootsie Polishes 2nd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Collection: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hey all! I have Turtle Tootsie Polishes' 2nd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Collection for today. I will let maker Chrissy tell you a bit more about this set: "This is our 2nd annual breast cancer collection, and as you may have noticed, they have the special pink ribbon label on them.  I'm a 4 year survivor, 5 years as of January, and will be donating $1 from every full size bottle sold to The National Breast Cancer Foundation (www.nationalbreastcancer.org)".

October being breast cancer awareness month, this is the perfect time for this set. That it has a personal impact on the maker shows how important this kind of support is. So, get your pink on in October with some (or all) of these polishes!

The collection will be released Friday, September 23rd in Turtle Tootsie Polishes' shop

The collection will be available for $65 for the full size set plus $40 for the mini set ($7 from each set will be donated). Individual bottles will also be available for $10 for full size and $6 for mini size.

Turtle Tootsie Polishes Courage
Three coats
Pale pink crelly with pink holo square glitter, mini pink stars, and scattered holographic pigment
Light, pink, and playful with the squares and stars. Formula was okay, with very light colors, like this pale pink, the first coat will be streaky. Depending on how thin or thick you apply, you may be able to get away with two coats. I ended up doing three thinner coats, to have a bit more control over application.

Turtle Tootsie Polishes Empowered
Two coats
Magenta creme with blue shimmer and blue/gold flakes
Love that color contrast with the bolder pink color and the blue flakes/shimmer. It's more opaque and easier to work with, needing just two coats for coverage.

Turtle Tootsie Polishes Faith
Three coats
Light pink cream with iridescent glitter
Those iridescent glitter are lovely in the base, just enough to add some depth, though subtle. Formula was about the same as Courage, my recommendation is to apply three thin coats for opacity.

Turtle Tootsie Polishes Fight-ON
Three coats
Pale pink crelly with aqua/blue color-shifting shimmer and scattered holo effect
I loved this one, it looks so delicate and the holo is not a bold one but adds some extra sparkle. Application and formula was like Courage and Faith, so same notes apply.

Turtle Tootsie Polishes Pink Ribbon
Layered over Cirque Memento Mori
Clear based topper with neon pink flakes, pink holo & blue/purple iridescent hexes, and magenta high heeled shoe shaped glitter
I love the how the iridescence pops over the black base and the high heel glitter a fun addition. They were harder to fish out with the polish brush, so if you may need to grab a few with tweezers to place them on your nail. If you are not a big fan of larger glitter pieces (I am in that category), you can still enjoy the layering effect of this, just leave out the large glitter pieces.

Turtle Tootsie Polishes Red Devil
Two coats
Cherry red jelly polish with gold flakes
Red Devil is the nickname for the chemo drug, Adriamycin, (one of the chemo drugs for fighting breast cancer) because of its deep red color and dangerous side effects. The polish itself is my favorite of the set, because you know me and reds. I was expecting it to need three coats and was happy to see that it just needed two coats. Though my nails were much shorter when I swatched this set, if I had longer nails, likely I would have done three coats, otherwise you would have seen a more visible nail line.

Turtle Tootsie Polishes Together We Fight
Two coats
Dark berry pink linear holographic
Pretty pink holo. Because sometimes that's all you need to be happy. Easy application, with two coats for coverage.
