Purchased by Me
Hey all! I have some polishes from Illyrian Polish on this lovely September Saturday. The first polish in the post is a new exclusive to Rainbow Connection, a UK stockist, available in their shop, though it appears that they are closed until September 26th.
The remaining ones in the post are part of the Summer Nights Set as well as the monthly polish for September. They are all available via pre-order now in Illyrian Polish's shop until Monday September 12th at 11 pm. Shipping will be on or before September 21st so not too long of a wait. Okay enough chatter, let's get to the photos.
Illyrian Polish The Count
Rainbow Connection Exclusive
Two coats
Indigo blue/purple with copper shimmer and red holo micro-glitter
A beautiful color and I like the added color contrast from the glitter. It goes on smoothly, needing two coats for coverage. The glitter does give you a bit of texture when it dries so a double layer of topcoat may be needed when worn.
Illyrian Polish Mad World
August LE
Two coats
Raspberry pink with copper shimmer, scattered holographic pigment and silver holo micro-glitter
Oh my. This polish is just so damn pretty. I actually purchased this impulsively when it was first released even though I was on a no buy. No regrets whatsoever. It has a jelly consistency but opaque enough in two coats.
Summer Nights Set:
Illyrian Polish Blue Moon
Two coats
Slate blue with heavy copper/gold shimmer and holographic pigment
I passed on this at first when I ordered Mad World and the other two from the Summer Nights Set but Vanessa was nice enough to include this in my order to review and I am so glad she did! I should never doubt her shimmer magic because hot damn this is gorgeous! I love how heavy the shimmer is in the base, it gives the otherwise cool toned dark slate blue a very warm look. Two coats for coverage, nothing to note about application.
Illyrian Polish Dazed
Two coats
Dusty mauve with teal shimmer
The base color is slightly more gray than mauve on me, I thought it would be a bit more pink in coloring. Still a beautiful color, especially with that luscious teal shimmer. It's more thick in formula compared to the previous two but not an issue when I applied it, I just waited a few minutes longer between coat one and two.
Illyrian Polish Fireflies
Layered over Cirque Colors NYFW
Clear base with red to orange to green color-shifting glitter
I haven't been as excited for glitter toppers lately but this one was an immediate want for me. I like the versatility of it, it can be applied over a number of base polishes and will look amazing over them all. I went with a cobalt blue base and wow, that color shift is crazy good looking. It's thicker than I prefer but I applied one careful coat over the base and got a good amount of coverage. If you want more glitter coverage, apply very thin coats to prevent any dragging or gummy build up. And you MUST wear it with matter topcoat!
