Fair Maiden Fall 2015 Polish Swords and Lace: A Renaissance Fantasy Collection: Swatches and Review

Provided for Review
Hello everyone! To finish off the week, I have a review of Fair Maiden Polish's upcoming Swords and Lace: A Renaissance Fantasy Collection. This collection is a eight polish set inspired by the romance and intrigue of the Renaissance era. Sarah and Adrienne, the ladies behind Fair Maiden, stated that this has been a collection they have wanted to create for some time, a theme that is true to the Fair Maiden aesthetic. Their final result is a cohesive, richly colored collection that it perfect for the fall season.

The Swords and Lace: A Renaissance Fantasy Collection will be released Saturday September 19th at 12 pm Noon CST in Fair Maiden Polish's shop

Fair Maiden Polish Belly Dancer
Layered over American Apparel Hassid
Glitter topper of gold, turquoise, royal purple, and magenta glitter in a clear base
I love how the glitter looks like an assortment of jewels. You will get a nice amount of coverage with one coat, which is what I have it shown as. I tried Belly Dancer over a few different looks but I like it best over black, the glitter stands out prominently.

Fair Maiden Polish Crystal Ball
Layered over American Apparel Hassid
Shimmer topper of gold to green color-shifting shimmer and various iridescent flakes.
A complex and enigmatic polish. It has a lot of shimmer and flakes so I found the formula to be on the thick side but this bottle has a wide, flat brush which was helpful with application. Black as my base color seemed to work best, you can see the flakes and shimmer well. I am going to wear this again over a light blue or mint, it would look wonderful I am sure over those type of colors.

Fair Maiden Polish High Priestess
Two coats
Strawberry red creme/jelly with orange to pink color-shifting shimmer
This one is a delicious brightened pink toned shade of red and that shimmer adds warmth to the whole look. I was expecting to need three coats since it has a crelly formula but was pleasantly surprised to see that I had full coverage in two coats.

Fair Maiden Polish Just a Mirage
Two coats
Dark plum purple linear holographic
For all those purple holo lovers out there, this is for you! Originally created as a Cosmo Prof 2015 polish but the ladies of Fair Maiden wanted to make it available to their customers so it will be included in this collection. I think that it does fit in quite well with the other shades of the set and it's high density holo flame will make it a popular polish.

Fair Maiden Polish Masquerade
Two coats
Cerulean blue with blue to green color-shifting shimmer
This color! It's wonderful. I could go on and on but I will just say that you should get this one, it's too pretty to miss out on. Great formula and application as well.

Fair Maiden Polish Pirate Queen
Two coats
Darkened magenta linear holographic
If a pirate queen was to wear polish, I do think it would be a shade like this, not just any ole pink but a bold, magenta pink that's just shy of purple. It has a nice consistency, needing only two coats for coverage and a high density holo flame.

Fair Maiden Polish Snake Charmer
Two coats
Emerald green linear holographic with golden shimmer
Another great color addition to the collection. As with the other polishes, easy application. It has a slightly lower density holo flame compared to the other holographic polishes in the set.

Fair Maiden Polish The Archeress
Two coats
Metallic gold linear holographic
I saved my favorite for last! I love gold holo polishes and this pale, buttery shade of gold shade is the best kind, in my opinion anyway. I know I am repeating myself at this point but great formula, it needs two coats for coverage and that's it.
